What our Chrysler recall check covers

Our combined check pulls the DVSA recall database, the SMMT manufacturer feed and the DVLA recall archive going back to 1992, so where a recall exists you get the live outstanding status, the recall description and every past campaign for the same model in one place.

DVSA database

The UK government's official recall register. Confirms whether a recall is outstanding for the vehicle.

SMMT manufacturer feed

Industry data from vehicle manufacturers. Typically includes the recall description, not just a flag.

DVLA recall archive

Every UK recall campaign issued since 1992. Surfaces the historical campaigns for the same make and model alongside the live status.

Why check a Chrysler for recalls?

Chrysler is now part of Stellantis (via the former FCA group) and is no longer sold new in the UK, but UK-registered Chryslers are still covered by DVSA and SMMT recall data. Historical campaigns have covered the long-running global Takata airbag inflator programme (with Chrysler one of the most-affected groups), 300C and Grand Voyager fuel-system items, and various electrical campaigns. Because Chryslers often trade hands privately through enthusiasts and specialists, a recall letter rarely reaches the current keeper of an older Chrysler.

Top Chrysler models we cover

Recall data is available for every UK-registered Chrysler, including the 300C, 300C Touring, Voyager, Grand Voyager, Crossfire, Sebring, PT Cruiser, Ypsilon, Delta and Neon. Enter any UK registration above to check.

Frequently asked questions

How does the RecallClear Chrysler recall check work?+

Enter the vehicle's registration mark (VRM) and pay £1.99. We query the DVSA recall database and the SMMT manufacturer feed in a single request and return the combined result. For most Chrysler vehicles you'll see whether a recall is outstanding, the source database, and (where available) a description of the recall.

What is the difference between DVSA and SMMT recall data?+

DVSA (the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) maintains the UK government's official recall register and flags whether a recall is outstanding. SMMT (the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) aggregates manufacturer-supplied data which often includes the recall description as well as the outstanding flag. Combining both maximises coverage and detail.

How recent is the recall data?+

Both DVSA and SMMT data sources are continually updated as manufacturers report new safety campaigns. Each check returns a timestamp showing when the data was last verified for that vehicle.

What happens if the recall status is "Unknown"?+

Some vehicles aren't currently listed in either database (very new registrations, very old vehicles, grey imports, and certain commercial variants are the usual reasons). When that happens we'll show "Unknown" and direct you to the manufacturer's recall portal so you can confirm directly. A refund is available if you'd like one.

What should I do if a recall is outstanding?+

Contact any authorised franchised dealer for the brand. Manufacturers carry out safety recalls free of charge, regardless of who currently owns the vehicle and regardless of age. You'll typically need the vehicle's VIN; the report includes it where the database returns one.

Do I need an account to run a check?+

No account is needed to start a check. After payment we'll email you a magic link so you can access the report any time, and a shareable link if you want to send the result to a buyer, seller, or dealer.

Chrysler no longer sells new cars in the UK. Where do I get a recall fix done?+

Outstanding Chrysler safety recalls are typically handled through the Stellantis service network — most commonly through a Jeep dealer in the UK. Recall work is carried out free of charge regardless of how long ago the campaign was issued.

My older Chrysler is over 15 years old. Is it still worth checking?+

Yes. Many older Chryslers (300C, Voyager, PT Cruiser) remain in active use and are still subject to outstanding Takata airbag campaigns and other safety recalls. Manufacturers fix safety recalls free of charge regardless of vehicle age.

Are sister-brand Jeeps, Fiats, Dodges and Alfa Romeos covered here?+

Each Stellantis brand has its own dedicated recall check. Use the Jeep, Fiat, Dodge, Alfa Romeo, Citroën or Peugeot pages for those vehicles — recall data is brand- and VIN-specific.

Other Stellantis brands

Chrysler is part of Stellantis. Recall checks for these sister brands are available too.

Prefer to check directly with the manufacturer?

Chrysler maintains an official recall lookup tool. Our combined check pulls from DVSA and SMMT to give you broader coverage, but you can also check the manufacturer's portal directly.
