STEERING SHAFT CLAMPING BOLTS MAY LOOSEN
The clamp bolt on one of three steering column universal couplings may not have been fully tightened on initial assembly. Should this bolt loosen it could allow excess free movement in the steering and if not rectified loss of steering control.
Recall the affected vehicles check the torque of the subject bolt and where necessary re-tighten it to the manufacturers specifications. Where a clamp bolt is found to be below the specified torque the splines on the shaft will be examined for

POSSIBLE CRACKING OF FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER MOUNTING
The front suspension upper mounting plate cups may crack. Under certain conditions this could affect vehicle handling.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the front suspension upper mounting plates with examples incorporating an alternative metal specification.
FRONT SUSPENSION REAR MOUNTINGS
In a small batch of vehicles in the above chassis range very severe usage may produce deterioration of the chassis mounting points for the front suspension arms which could compromise the directional stability of the vehicle.
Recalled vehicles will be inspected and a reinforcement plate will be fitted accordingly.
POSSIBLE UNSCHEDULED APPLICATION OF SPRING BRAKE
As a result of possible incorrect fitment the air pipe from the parking brake valve to the connectors on the warning light pressure switch may separate and cause unscheduled application of the spring brake.
Recall the affected vehicles and check that fitment and installation of the subject pipe conforms to the manufacturers production standard.
POSSIBLE UNSCHEDULED APPLICATION OF SPRING BRAKE

POSSIBLE PETROL LEAKAGE
The injector retaining clamps may not have been correctly tightened. This could result in leakage of fuel from around the injectors.
Recall the affected vehicles and ensure that the injector clamp bolts are tightened to the manufacturers specification.
DASHBOARD WIRING HARNESS MAY CHAFE
A wiring harness routed behind the dashboard may chafe on the ECU mounting bracket. This could damage the loom and render several electrical circuits inoperative.
Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of a protective covering on the ECU mounting bracket edge.
POSSIBLE FUEL OVERFLOW
There is a possibility that fuel may leak from the carburettor onto the road surface.
Recall the affected machines for removal and examination of the carburettor components. These will be replaced by modified versions as required. However where evidence of improper machining of the fuel inlet valve seat is found the carburettor unit will be replaced.
SHORTING OF STARTER RELAY
An internal short circuit may occur in the starter relay. This could generate sufficient heat to constitute a fire risk.
Recall the affected machines and replace the original relay with a version incorporating improved sealing properties. At the same time the relay will be repositioned to render it less liable to the ingress of moisture.
DISCONNECTION OF CERTAIN BRAKING SYSTEM PUSH-IN FITTINGS
Two instances have occurred whereby push in connections used on the air braking system have disconnected. This has only happened where pipe reducers have been used.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace all push-in connections on the air braking system with compression joints.

POSSIBLE SPONTANEOUS RELEASE OF PARKING BRAKE
A batch of vehicles has been identified where the parking brake pawl teeth have been incorrectly formed and are of insufficient depth. This may result in damage to the pawl teeth as well as those on the handbrake ratchet and could permit spontaneous release
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the parking brake ratchet and pawl mechanisms with quality assured components. This recall supersedes former campaign R1992/17 since Renault have decided to replace the ratchet and pawl mechanisms on
FRACTURE OF FUEL BALANCE PIPE
The fuel balance pipe between the twin fuel tanks may fracture and allow the diesel fuel to escape.
Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of a modified balance pipe between the fuel tanks.

HARDENING OF FUEL LINES
Due to the effects of age and temperature the underbonnet rubber fuel lines may harden. This could lead to the possibility of fuel leakage particularly when the engine is cold.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the existing fuel pipes with the modified versions introduced to production vehicles in 1992.
ABS WIRING MODIFICATION
The anti-lock brake electronic control unit may malfunction due to receiving a reversed polarity feed through its earthing system which shares a common earth point with other electrical systems on the vehicle.
Recall the affected vehicles and alter the wiring system to provide a separate earthing point for the ABS system.
FRONT BRAKE DISCS OF INSUFFICIENT THICKNESS
A small number of subject vehicles may have been equipped with front brake discs of insufficient metal thickness. This could adversely affect braking performance.
Recall the affected vehicles for examination of the front brake discs. Where any disc does not meet the manufacturers dimensional specification both front discs will be renewed.
BRAKE PIPES MAY CHAFE ON OTHER COMPONENTS
On the subject vehicles it is possible that the brake pipe holder may not have been correctly positioned on the steering rack. This could allow the brake pipe to chafe on adjoining components and cause pipe damage.
Recall the affected vehicles and if necessary modify the position of the pipe holder and pipes to eliminate the possibility of the pipes chafing on other components.
POSSIBLE INADVERTENT OPERATION OF DRIVERS SEAT
Air suspension driver's seat may inadvertently operate incorrectly positioning the driver in relation to the vehicle controls.
Recall affected vehicles to change the control system on the drivers seat.
