Recall the affected vehicles for the removal of any protrusion on the retarder switch support bracket and the fitment of the countersunk bolts between the retarder actuating bracket and the brake pedal.
INADVERTENT MOVEMENT OF DRIVING SEAT
The air suspended/air operated driving seat may rise to its full height limit and remain in that position regardless of prior adjustment.
Recall the affected vehicles and modify the driving seat internal valve assembly to eliminate the possibility of the seat inadvertently rising.
POSSIBLE SHORT CIRCUIT
An extension bracket connecting the main lead to the battery positive terminal can contact the battery carrier. This may result in a short circuit disturbing the operation of the ABS braking system.
Recall the affected machines for removal of the subject bracket and the fitting of a cable direct to the battery positive terminal.
BRAKE ACTUATOR PUSH RODS MAY STICK
The painted brake actuator push rods may stick on the anti-grunt bush on the actuator body allowing the brakes to stick on after release at one or more wheel stations.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the original actuator push rods with zinc plated versions.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF FRONT SPRING
A specific batch of vehicles have been equipped with front suspension coil springs which may suffer from localised corrosion. This can cause breakage of the springs with an adverse effect on vehicle control.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the original coil springs with quality assured examples.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF REAR WHEEL BEARINGS
On a specific batch of rear wheel bearings the outer bearing race may break up during certain operating conditions leading to failure of the bearing and hub detachment.
Recall the affected vehicles for inspection and replacement of the affected bearings.
POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION OF ELECTRIC WINDOW SWITCH
The window operating switch may latch in the 'pressed' condition. This could result in the window continuing to operate up or down when pressure on the switch is released.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the original window switches with quality assured units.
PETROL SMELL IN CAR
Incorrect positioning and/or tightening of the fuel pipe clips on the injection bar may cause petrol fumes or smell in the passenger compartment.
Recall the affected vehicles for inspection. Where the subject pipes have been incorrectly positioned and/or tightened the pipes will be replaced.
CHAFING OF WIRING LOOMS AND POSSIBLE FUEL LEAKAGE
1) Certain cable looms in the engine compartment may chafe on adjacent sharp edges with the possibility of a short circuit. 2) Leakage may develop in the hose connections to the fuel manifold.
1) Recall the affected vehicles re-route secure and protect the subject cable looms as required to eliminate chafing. 2) Replace the fuel hose securing clamps check the condition of the hoses and replace as required.
POSSIBLE BRAKE PIPE CHAFING ON CERTAIN MODELS
The steel brake pipe from the master cylinder to the ABS valve block may chafe on the air cleaner hose. This could result in failure of the pipe with loss of braking on one circuit.
Recall the affected vehicles shorten and re-route the air cleaner hose to avoid possible contact with the brake pipe. Where chafing has taken place the brake pipe will be replaced.
POSSIBLE JAMMING OF THROTTLE
A plastic clip may have been left in the engine air inlet hose during initial assembly. Should this clip be drawn into the throttle housing it may cause the throttle to jam.
Recall the affected vehicles and check the engine air inlet hose removing the clip (if present).
POSSIBLE CHAFING OF WIRING
Under certain conditions the alternator feed wire/terminal may contact the clutch cable and the instrument panel harness may chafe against the steering column. Either of these concerns could lead to short circuiting and.
Recall the affected vehicles reposition the alternator terminal and secure the wiring harnesses in the bulkhead area away from moving parts.
STEERING RACK BEARING
It is possible that the steering rack pinion nose bearing may have been omitted during manufacture. This would result in stiffness of the steering.
The affected vehicles will be recalled and examined to establish that the pinion nose bearing has been fitted. Where the bearing is found to be missing the steering rack will be replace with quality assured unit.
FUEL PUMP CONTROL ROD BREAKAGE
Instances of breakage of the control rod within the fuel injection pump have occurred. Should this happen at high engine revs it could affect control of the vehicle since the rod may jam and prevent the engine from returning to idling speed.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the fuel injection pump and its attachments.
INADVERTENT RELEASE OF HANDBRAKE
The pawl spring fitted as original equipment to the parking brake may be insufficiently long and consequently fail to exert enough pressure to ensure that the pawl engages positively in the ratchet teeth. This could allow the parking brake to release
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the original pawl spring with a longer version.
