CHILD CAR SEAT DEFECTIVE RECLINER BAR
A possible fault has been identified in the design of the recliner bar of this seat. This could affect the security of the occupant in sudden stop or accident applications.
Through contact with stockists and advertising in the Press recall all seats possibly affected by this concern. Where a seat with a faulty recliner bar is identified the seat unit will be replaced.
STUB AXLE FAILURE
Possible fracture of the stub axle(s) on high mileage passenger carrying vehicles. This could result in loss of the wheel and hub assembly with attendant loss of vehicle control and braking effort on one brake circuit.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the stub axle during normal routine servicing or repair with new units incorporating a revised heat treatment requirement.
POSSIBLE TYRE FAILURE
Certain vehicles within the chassis range specified may have been fitted with examples of a batch of Dunlop tyres which are the subject of a recall. The tyres were affected by a contaminant during manufacture which could cause loss of adhesion between

FAILURE OF SUSPENSION ARM WELDS
The weld attaching the stub axle to the suspension arm may fail resulting in collapse and displacement of the suspension
Recall the affected semi-trailers and replace the suspension arms with quality assured examples.
INADEQUATE WELDING OF TOWBAR
On some towbars manufactured within a specified period the welding between the ball unit brackets and the crossmember may be defective. In extreme cases this could result in trailer detachment.
Recall all 850 models which have been fitted with towbars and check if the towbar is within the affected range. Where it is established that this is the case the towbar assembly will be replaced with a quality assured unit.
POSSIBILITY OF BRAKES LOCKING ON
On a limited batch of caravan axles there exists a possibility of the expander clutch disengaging from the brake shoes. This is due to the introduction of a modified shoe which offers slightly less engagement with the expander clutch. Should the problem occur it may cause the brakes to bind or lock.
Recall the affected caravans for examination and rework as necessary. Where modified shoes are fitted the existing clutch will be replaced with a modified version. Additionally all boxes of replacement brake shoes will contain a warning that they must be fitted with the latest expander clutch.
CRUISE CONTROL BALL JOINT FAILURE
There is a possibility that a ball socket on the cruise control may detach. This could allow the linkage to jam on adjacent components and prevent the accelerator linkage returning to the idle position when the pedal is released.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the original cruise control ball sockets with quality assured steel examples.
BRAKE HOSE MAY CHAFE ON CAB STAY
Under certain circumstances the offside front brake hose can be caught and chafe on the tilt cab stay support. This could result in failure of the hose.
Recall the affected vehicles and fit an elbow between the union on the chassis frame and the hose which will route the hose clear of the stay support. Any hose showing signs of contact damage will be replaced.
BRAKE CALIPER BRIDGING PIPE MAY CONTACT THE FRONT WHEEL
It is possible that the brake pipe connecting the two front brake calipers may be disturbed during routine maintenance and could as a result contact the front wheel.
Recall the affected machines for replacement of the original connecting pipe by a redesigned version routed to eliminate the possibility of wheel contact.
INSECURITY OF FRONT TOWING EYE
The welds securing the front towing eye to its mounting bracket are not to specification and can result in detachment of the eye when the vehicle is under tow.
Recall the affected vehicles for inspection of the welds which secure the front towing eye. Where these are not to specification the welds will be reworked as per the manufacturers instructions.
INSECURITY OF FRONT TOWING EYE

VACUUM PUMP FAILURE
Possible failure of the brake servo vacuum pump resulting in loss of service brake servo assistance.
Recall the affected vehicles for removal of the pump induced vacuum supply and conversion of the vacuum source to the engine induction system.
CRACKING AROUND KING PIN RETAINING WELD
Maintenance inspections have revealed cracking around the periphery of the weld retaining the king pin to the upper coupler apron plate on specified trailers.
Depending on the condition of the coupling on inspection it will either be reworked by the addition of stiffer plates or by the replacement of the welded-in king pin by a bolt-in king pin.

LACK OF WELD PENETRATION OF ROADWHEEL SEAM WELDS
The seam weld joining the wheel disc to the wheel rim may lack penetration resulting in failure of the weld and eventual detachment of the road wheel.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the road wheels with quality assured examples.
FAILURE OF ENGINE GOVERNOR
A pin within the engine governor servo cylinder assembly may disengage. This could result in the governor failing to control the engine speed.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the governor rack servo assembly with a quality assured unit.
BATTERY CABLE TERMINAL MAY TOUCH THE STARTER MOTOR SOLENOID
The battery cable terminal may touch the starter motor solenoid body at the point of attachment to the starter motor. This could result in a short circuit.
Recall the affected vehicles and check the angle of attachment to the starter motor terminal. Where this is close to or touching the starter motor solenoid body it will be repositioned to ensure that adequate clearance is maintained.
FUEL LEAKAGE FROM CAB HEATER PUMP
There is a possibility of fuel leakage between the cab heater fuel pump housing and its cover.
Recall the affected vehicles and inspect the cab heater pump for signs of fuel leakage. Where there is evidence of this the fuel pump will be replaced. On pumps not exhibiting signs of leakage the pump cover retaining screws will be replaced.

POSSIBLE FRACTURE OF AIR TANK MOUNTING BRACKET
