GEARBOX TRANSMISSION SHAFT SPROCKET MAY BECOME DETACHED
The steel sprocket stop plate on the gearbox transmission shaft is too soft. Premature wear of this part could cause the sprocket to come adrift. This could result in loss of drive or in exceptional cases the chain could become entangled with the rear wheel.
Replace the sprocket stop plate with a quality assured type.
POSSIBLE OIL CONTAMINATION OF REAR TYRE
In some extreme cases oil can weep from between the engine crankcase halves due to slackening of the securing bolts. This seepage occurs forward of the rear tyre and may in extreme cases cause vehicle instability.
Recall affected machines and replace the original lower crankcase bolts with quality assured bolts.
STEERING DRAG LINK AND TRACK ROD BALL JOINT CLAMP BOLTS MAY LOOSEN AND AFFECT THE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE
The nuts securing the drag link and track rod ball joint clamps may not have been pre-treated. As a result the tightness torque could be too low and the nuts could loosen which in extreme cases could lead to loss of steering.
Replace suspect nuts/bolts with correct version.
STEERING DRAG LINK AND TRACK ROD BALL JOINT CLAMP BOLTS MAY LOOSEN AND AFFECT THE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE
The nuts securing the drag link and track rod ball joint clamps may not have been pre-treated. As a result the tightness torque could be too low and the nuts could loosen which in extreme cases could lead to loss of steering.
Replace suspect nuts/bolts with correct version.
REAR BRAKE ASSEMBLY TORQUE ARM MAY BECOME DETACHED
The screw and nut that fasten the rear brake linkage to the engine mounting plate may come adrift. This fault could cause the torque arm to fall off and contact the road surface. This could result in loss of braking and rider control.
Recall affected machines and fit a modified bolt and nut to the front end of the torque arm connecting the rear brake unit to the engine mounting plate.
POSSIBLE OIL CONTAMINATION OF REAR TYRE
In some extreme cases oil can weep from between the engine crankcase halves due to slackening of the securing bolts. This seepage occurs forward of the rear tyre and may in extreme cases cause vehicle instability.

Yamaha Motor Co. have identified a potential defect whereby the oil delivery pipe to the transmission may possibly become displaced. The reduced level of lubrication may then in extreme cases cause transmission components to seize.
Recall potentially affected motorcycles and fit a retaining plate to the oil delivery pipe.
POTENTIAL WIRING CHAFE SITUATION AND SHORT CIRCUIT
Potential chafing of the A/C wiring harness due to inappropriate routing. This can lead to a short circuit.
Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the A/C wiring harness re-routed and additional protection added. If any wire insulation is worn through and the copper is exposed the harness will be replaced.

Recall all affected vehicles and fit a quality assured fuel tank sender unit.
PARKING BRAKE MAY BECOME INEFFECTIVE
Possibility due to incorrect air pipe layout that parking brake can not be reapplied when entrance door is opened from the outside. Vehicle could run away.
Recall potentially affected vehicles check for incorrect tapping of auxiliary air supply from between the parking brake control and the spring brake unit. Transfer the auxiliary air supply connection to a safe source where necessary.

SUDDEN DEFLATION OF FRONT TYRE
The inner tube fitted as original equipment is incompatible with the wheel rim. In consequence the front tyre may suddenly deflate without warning.
Affected machines are being recalled to have the original tube replaced with an alternative version which is compatible with the wheel rim..
POSSIBLE JAMMING OF ACCELERATOR MECHANISM
It is possible that part of the throttle actuator mechanism can rub against the bonnet insulation and in a worst-case situation could become jammed.
Recall affected vehicles and fit modified insulation material.
STEERING ARM SECURING NUTS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN FULLY TIGHTENED
Failure of one of two steering arm attachment studs due to securing nut being incorrectly torqued. Continued use of vehicle with failed stud could lead to second stud failing and loss of directional control of the vehicle.
Contact all affected operators requesting them to carry out torque checks on the six nuts retaining the top steering lever and both bottom steering levers. Any nut/bolt found to rotate more than a quarter of one flat must be renewed.
POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUIT
The glow plug relay bracket can break due to vibration with a risk of causing a short circuit which may lead to the wires igniting.
Replace with an improved thicker bracket.
POSSIBLE SEPARATION OF BRAKE DISC FROM FRONT HUB
The bolts securing the disc to the front hub are of incorrect quality and could fail with the result of the brake disc being no longer secured to the hub.
Replace all suspect bolts with improved version.
STEERING BOX MOUNTING BRACKET MAY CRACK
Steering box mounting bracket cracked. Possible detachment of box could occur if the crack worsens.
Recall all affected vehicles and replace any cracked mounting brackets. Further investigations are being carried out with the chassis manufacturer to determine whether the original bracket design requires modification.
TOW BAR BALL END MAY LOOSEN
Advised by manufacturer for vehicles with PEKA tow bar the description of the ball end installation in the instruction manual is unclear. In isolated cases the ball end can loosen because of a wrong installation.
A new instruction manual will be sent to owners of affected vehicles.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF REAR SUSPENSION CRADLE MOUNTING BOLT
Under some operating conditions the air suspension cradle mounting bolt may fail.
Recall affected vehicles and fit upgraded mounting bolts.
POTENTIAL FAILURE OF BATTERY CHARGING CIRCUIT
The power supply of the vehicle can be disrupted without warning (the alternator warning light does not illuminate) due to a break in the wiring loom at the alternator connector.
Recall affected vehicles and fit new wiring loom.
