FRONT SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER HARNESS
There is a possibility of an open circuit in the connector on the front seat belt pretensioner harness. This may cause flashing of the airbag warning light and a loss of the pretensioning function in case of an accident.
Replace the front seat pretensioner harness.
VACUUM PUMP DRIVE PIN
Brake vacuum pump drive pin may fail as a result of premature wear. This could result in a loss of power assistance at the brake pedal.
Recall affected vehicles to fit a quality assured replacement drive pin to the brake vacuum pump.
VACUUM PUMP DRIVE PIN
Brake vacuum pump drive pin may fail as a result of premature wear. This could result in a loss of power assistance at the brake pedal.
Recall affected vehicles to fit a quality assured replacement drive pin to the brake vacuum pump.
DRIVESHAFT MAY DETACH FROM GEARBOX
An incorrect left hand drive shaft may have been fitted. The shaft could separate from the gearbox on a sharp bend or during excessive suspension deflection.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a correct specification left hand drive shaft where necessary.
THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE ENGINE MAY STOP WHEN DRIVING
There is a possibility that a condenser may become detached from the circuit board due to the breakage of the component wiring. The engine may stop or be difficult to start.
Recall affected vehicles and apply silicone to the condenser to act as a vibration damper to counteract shocks that can be transmitted from the suspension through the body to the circuit board.
RISK OF RAPID LOSS OF TYRE PRESSURE
There is a possibility of a rapid loss of tyre pressure on Kleber C100 165/70 R14 85 R tyres due to low inner rubber thickness on casing ply cord in tyre shoulder zone. This may affect the vehicle's road holding.
Recall affected vehicle's and replace tyres with quality assured tyre.
POSSIBLE SLACKENING OF THE STEERING RACK AND INBOARD ENGINE MOUNTING FASTENERS
Fasteners on the steering rack and the inboard engine mounting may not have been tightened correctly. In the event that any fasteners come completely undone while the car is being driven the driver could lose control of the vehicle.
Recall affected vehicles check the fasteners for correct torque and tighten where necessary.
POTENTIAL FUEL LEAK
Defective crimping of fuel return hose to metal pipe connector may result in a fuel leak.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a quality assured replacement pipe.
BRAKE IMBALANCE
The rear axle load sensing valve may become defective resulting in uneven braking effort between the left and right hand rear wheels.
Recall vehicles check and if required replace the load sensing (ALB) valve.
POSSIBLE CHAFING OF BRAKE PIPES.
Possible chafing of front rigid brake pipes at near side front against the plastic wheel arch liner or against the gearbox mounting. Also at the off side front against the engine timing belt cover.
Reposition any chafing brake pipe to comply with the manufacturer's prescribed clearance between adjacent parts. Renew any brake pipe that has been chafed beyond a serviceable condition.
DRIVERS FLOOR MAT MAY INTERFERE WITH THROTTLE PEDAL
The floor mat fitted in the driver's footwell may interfere with the throttle pedal and cause the throttle to stick open. This may lead to loss of control of the vehicle.
Recall affected vehicles and replace mat with modified type.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
The overflow drainpipe inside the fuel tank may crack and leak fuel with a subsequent fire risk.
Recall affected machines and replace the fuel tank if the pipe is found to be cracked. Where the pipe is found to be serviceable a damper weight will be fitted to eliminate the vibration which may cause the pipe to crack. At the same time a new fuel level sensor will be fitted to address reports of inaccurate reading of the fuel gauge.
COOLING SYSTEM LEAKS
There is a possibility of premature failure of the cooling system hoses and throttle body heater gasket. Expelled coolant allowed to remain on hot engine components can result in the evaporation of the water content and leave an artificially high concentration level of anti - freeze which is in extreme circumstances both corrosive and inflammable.
Recall affected vehicles to replace cooling system hoses / throttle body heater gasket with quality assured parts.
SIDE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY
The side air bag satellite sensor may be incorrectly programmed. In the event of a collision the air bag may not deploy.
Recall affected vehicles and re-programme sensor.
POSSIBLE INGRESS OF WATER / DIRT INTO BRAKE ACTUATOR.
Some brake actuators may have been installed with the single breather / drain hole at the top. This may result in water and dirt entering the actuator causing corrosion and seizure of the operating mechanism.
Recall affected trailers examine the brake actuators and replace those found to have the breather / drain holes in the topmost position.
REAR AXLE BRAKE PIPES MAY RUB ON SPARE WHEEL CARRIER.
The clearance between the brake pipes clipped to the rear axle and the spare wheel carrier may be reduced. In extreme conditions the brake pipes may rub against the carrier.
Recall affected vehicles and fit replacement spare wheel carrier.
POSSIBLE DISPLACEMENT OF BRAKE PADS
The front brake disc pad retaining spring may break and allow the disc pads to become displaced. The broken parts of the spring may also damage the tyre valve.
Replace the brake pad retaining springs with quality assured parts.
FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION BALL JOINT MAY FAIL
An under torque condition may exist in the front lower ball joint. This may result in a high bending fatigue loading of the joint which could result in a fracture of the first thread of the ball stud which then leads to separation of the lower control arm from the knuckle. This separated condition will limit steering control.
Recall affected vehicles and check ball joint security and condition. Replace vertical link if necessary.
POTENTIAL LOSS OF BRAKE VACUUM ASSISTANCE
Possibility of failure of the vacuum pump drive dog leading to a loss of brake assistance.
Recall the potentially affected range of vehicles and replace the drive dog on those equipped with a Magneti Marelli Vacuum pump
POTENTIAL LOSS OF BRAKE VACUUM ASSISTANCE
Possibility of failure of the vacuum pump drive dog leading to a loss of brake assistance.
Recall the potentially affected range of vehicles and replace the drive dog on those equipped with a Magneti Marelli vacuum pump.
POSSIBLE FRACTURE OF WHEEL RIM
Weld securing the wheel rim to the wheel centre may fracture and result in loss of steering control.
Recall affected vehicles and replace all suspect wheels with quality assured new ones.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK FROM TANK
Fuel may leak from between the fuel tank cap and the filler neck.
Examine affected units and replace the fuel tank assembly where found necessary.
SECURITY OF STEERING RACK REAR SUSPENSION AND ENGINE MOUNTING FASTENERS
Fasteners on the steering rack rear suspension and near-side engine mounting may not have been tightened to the correct torque. It is possible that these components may become detached during use.
Recall the affected vehicles and tighten fasteners to correct torque where necessary.
HANDBRAKE MAY SELF RELEASE
The handbrake lever pawl may not rotate freely. When the handbrake is applied the pawl may not engage the ratchet and the handbrake can slip off.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a quality assured replacement handbrake assembly where necessary.
POTENTIAL DETACHMENT OF CRANKSHAFT PULLEY
The Crankshaft Pulley securing bolt may not have been correctly torqued. The bolt may loosen or break and in the worst case result in detachment of the pulley.
All engines up to engine number YD2145 - remove pulley securing bolt increase the depth of the thread in the Crankshaft by 5 mm. Check bolt for damage and renew if necessary. Lubricate threads refit and tighten to specified torque. Engines numbered from YD2146 onwards - remove pulley securing bolt examine for damage and renew if necessary lubricate threads refit and tighten to specified torque.
