DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.

ENGINE OIL MAY LEAK ONTO REAR WHEEL
There is a possibility that the oil filter may loosen. If ignored oil may leak onto the rear wheel.
Recall affected machines to check that latest filter is fitted with modified seal.

HANDLEBAR CONCERN
Certain Buell Pro-Series Competition Handlebar Kits were manufactured with a handlebar that can break.
Replace all Pro-Series Competition Handlebars with stock configuration handlebars on all affected vehicles.
POSSIBLE INSECURITY OF RACE EXHAUST SYSTEM
Certain Buell Pro-Series Race Exhaust Systems contain a muffler that could break. This condition could allow the muffler to drag on the ground which may affect handling.
Recall affected machines and fit a muffler retention kit.
FUEL TANK MOUNTINGS
Fuel tank rear mountings may not adequately secure the tank with a risk of possible disengagement.
Recall affected vehicles and fit additional bolts or reinforcement plates to rear tank mountings depending on original build configuration.
SEAT SECURITY CONCERN
Driver and front passenger seat adjuster rails may fracture and cause seat to become insecure.
Recall affected vehicles and fit reinforcing plates to the seat runners. Fit new runners if the original ones are fractured.
FUEL MAY LEAK WHEN FILLING AND CORNERING
The hose connecting a spigot on the filler neck to the fuel tank top surface has been found to be of an incorrect material specification. The suspect hoses have a reduced resistance to tearing and rupturing forces exacerbated by careless or incorrect fitting.
Recall affected vehicles and replace fuel filler breather hose with modified type.
SEAT BELT LATCHING CONCERN
Driver and front passenger seat belt latching mechanism may separate when loaded in a frontal impact.
Recall affected vehicles and fit quality assured seat belt buckles.

POSSIBLE LOSS OF REAR BRAKE CONTROL
The rear brake caliper mounting lugs situated in the rear hub gearbox cover may fracture allowing the rear caliper to break free with consequent loss of rear brake control and the potential to lock up the rear wheel.
Recall affected machines and fit additional rear brake caliper support bracket.
UNINTENTIONAL DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS AND/OR SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS
A fault within the control unit may cause unintentional deployment of the front air bags and/or seat belt pre-tensioners.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a quality assured control unit.
UNINTENTIONAL DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS AND/OR SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS
A fault within the control unit may cause unintentional deployment of the front air bags and or seat belt pre-tensioners.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a quality assured control unit.
CHILD SEAT SECURITY CONCERN
Welding faults on the seams of the ISOFIX mounting bars may occur. The safe support of ISOFIX child seats can therefore not be guaranteed in a crash.
Recall vehicles in order to re-weld the ISOFIX mounting bars.
FRONT STABILISER BAR LINKS.
One or both front stabiliser bar links may break. Under certain conditions vehicle handling may be affected if one or both of the front stabiliser bar links are broken.
Both front stabiliser bar links will be replaced with new 10 - millimetre service stabiliser bar links.
FUEL TANK MAY CRACK AND LEAK
There is a possibility that the fuel tank may be incorrectly welded on its upper panel and baffle plate in the tank causing it to crack on the welded position. In the worst case this may cause the fuel tank to leak fuel.
Inspect the vehicles replace the fuel tanks if leaking and in cases where no abnormality is found apply a protector plate.
REAR SUSPENSION FIXING BOLTS
Incorrect specification rear suspension arm pivot fixing bolts could fail under arduous operating conditions possibly resulting in the rear wheel locking.
Recall potentially affected vehicles examine the pivot fixing bolts and renew with ones of correct specification where necessary.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
The fuel tank can split close to the filler neck. This will allow fuel to be spilled onto the rear wheel. This could cause a loss of traction and may cause the rider to fall off.
Recall affected machines and fit a modified quality assured fuel tank.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
The lower steering column shaft may be too short and in a worst case separate from the steering box input shaft.
Recall potentially affected vehicles measure the length of the lower steering column shaft and replace where necessary.
FRONT SUSPENSION CONCERN
There is a possibility that the front stub axle lower ball joint fixing may have been incorrectly machined which may result in separation of the stub axle from the ball joint/lower suspension arm.
Recall affected vehicles to check and if required replace the left and right stub axles which will be carried out free of charge.
FUEL TANK MOUNTINGS
Fuel tank rear mountings may not inadequately secure the tank with a risk of possible disengagement.
Recall affected vehicles and fit reinforcement plates to rear tank mountings.
