IGNITION SWITCH MAY SHORT CIRCUIT
The ignition switch may short circuit in the presence of water and impurities. This could cause a vehicle fire.
Recall vehicles and replace ignition switch.
PARKING BRAKE CONCERN
Due to insufficient lubrication the parking brake cable might not fully return when released. This may cause the brake to bind.
Recall affected vehicles and replace parking brake cables with modified type.
UNDERBONNET FIRE CONCERN
Debris may accumulate on the exhaust manifold. This could lead to an under bonnet fire.
Install an intake/exhaust manifold debris shield.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF SERVO ASSISTANCE
The steel vacuum tube that supplies vacuum to the brake booster may crack resulting in loss of servo assistance. This will result in increased pedal power to stop the vehicle.
Recall vehicles and replace the steel vacuum tube with a flexible vacuum hose.
UNDERBONNET FIRE CONCERN
Debris may accumulate on the exhaust manifold. This could lead to an under bonnet fire.
Install an intake/exhaust manifold debris shield.
POSSIBLE DEFLATION OF FRONT LEFT HAND TYRE
A conveyor used during vehicle manufacturing may have damaged the front left hand tyre. In extreme cases the damage could lead to possible deflation of the affected tyre.
Examine tyre for damage and replace where necessary.
GEARBOX MAY LOCK UP
The idler gears for third and fourth gear may not be securely seated on the intermediate shaft. As a consequence two gears could be engaged similtaneously and cause the gearbox to lock up.
Replace the gearbox on the affected motorcycles.
STEERING IDLER ARM FIXING BOLTS MAY LOOSEN
The fixing bolts holding the steering idler arms to the chassis may not conform to specification. This may cause the bolts to loosen and result in a loss of steering control.
Fit quality assured replacement fixing bolts.
POTENTIAL LOSS OF BRAKES
Risk of loss of service brake due to securing clips missing from the brake pedal to servo cross shaft linkage.
Examine brake pedal cross shaft installation and replace any missing clips.
POSSIBLE CRACKING OF FORK TUBE CLAMP
Possible cracking of fork tube lower triple clamp during manufacture. Failure in use may cause partial or total loss of steering stability.
All machines fitted with triple clamps within the affected range will be initially checked and if necessary new quality assured triple clamps wil be fitted.

VEHICLE SURGE
The engine speed may surge intermittently when first started from cold when the outside temperature is between 0 degrees centigrade and plus 5 degrees centigrade.
Reprogramme the fuel injection computer.

All machines fitted with triple clamps within the affected range will be initially checked and if necessary new quality assured triple clamps wil be fitted.
REAR BRAKE PIPE CONCERN
In frequent stop/start conditions in snow and severely cold weather compacted snow/ice may build up on the inner face of the wheel disc. In extreme circumstances the snow/ice may strike and distort the metal pipe that connects to the rear brake cylinder. Impaired braking and a hydraulic fluid leak may result.
Fit a modified and re-routed brake pipe.

POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUIT
A fault exists in the light control module software (LCM) which could cause the LCM to overheat and result in a short circuit in the electrical system.
Replace the light control module.

A fault exists in the light control module software (LCM) which could cause the LCM to overheat and result in a short circuit in the electrical system.
Replace the light control module.
POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO TYRES
There is a risk that the tyres may have been damaged during fitting onto the wheel rim at the factory.
Replace all five tyres.
INCORRECT SPECIFICATION BRAKE FLUID
It is possible that the brake fluid is not to the correct specification. this over a period of time could adversely affect the brake performance.
Replace the hydraulic fluid in the brake and clutch operating circuits.
DIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR CONCERN.
When some scan tools are connected to the diagnostic connector on the vehicle they expect to see a vehicle ground on pin 5 of the diagnostic connector. Pin 5 of the diagnostic connector has no wire in place to supply a ground point. It is a legal requirement in NAS and for EOBD certified vehicles in the EU to have a vehicle ground in pin 5.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a pin to position 5 on the diagnostic connector and splice to the existing earth point.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAKAGE
Certain injectors may suffer quality problems affecting the connection to the pressure pipe. This can result in cracking of the injector connection and a subsequent fuel leak.
Remove and examine the fuel injectors and renew any found to be part of the faulty batch.
POTENTIAL LEAKAGE OF ENGINE OIL
Due to the shape of the oil pan there is a possibility that under certain road and riding conditions it may make contact with a road projection such as a Sleeping Policeman or kerb. Any such contact may cause damage. In the worst case engine oil may leak from the damaged area onto the rear tyre.
Fit a redesigned engine oil pan.
