DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 14001–14025 of 15,570 recalls.
TO FIT WARNING DEVICE TO THROTTLE PEDAL
There is a possibility of an electronic throttle pedal circuit failure which might lead to an unexpected surge in engine revs.
Recall affected vehicles and modify engine fault warning light so that it will illuminate if a partial pedal circuit failure occurs before any loss of engine speed control is experienced.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
It is possible that the steering coupling at the union with the steering gear may not be correctly positioned and/or sufficiently torqued. This could lead to the steering gear becoming detached from the steering column with subsequent loss of steering control.
Check the position of the steering coupling and the fasteners for correct torque.
POSSIBILITY OF FAILURE OF THE WHEEL BEARING
Premature failure of rear wheel bearings caused by dirt and water penetration due to a defective inner seal
Recall likely to be affected vehicles and replace the bearings and seals of both rear hubs.
Potential for failure of braking efficiency in reverse mode
If a rearward force is applied to either rear corner of the unit the auto brake reverse mode can be over ridden on that side causing the unit to pivot on the opposite stationary wheel.
Recall the affected units to modify the brake linkage.
POSSIBLE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION
The engine may intermittently accelerate by itself and/or suffer instability of the idle speed.
Reprogramme the fuel injection computer software.
POSSIBLE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION
The engine may intermittently accelerate by itself and/or suffer instability of the idle speed.
Reprogramme the fuel injection computer software.
FRONT HUB SECURITY
Front hub nut security pin may have been incorrectly fitted.
Recall affected vehicles check for correct fitment of pin and replace if necessary
POSSIBLE CRACKING OF LOWER ENGINE STABILISER ROD
The lower engine stabiliser rod may crack or break. This could result in detachment of the off side drive shaft on full lock.
Inspect the stabiliser rod welding and fit a new rod where found necessary.
WATER INGRESS INTO THE AIRBAG ECU
Water ingress into the airbag control unit (ECU) could result in illumination of the warning light and in the worst case unintentional deployment of the airbag.
Seal the airbag ECU compartment
WATER INGRESS INTO THE AIRBAG ECU
There is a possibility that water may ingress into the airbag electronic control unit (ECU) compartment. This may cause premature deployment of the airbag.
Seal the airbag ECU compartment.
POSSIBLE CHAFING OF OFFSIDE FRONT BRAKE PIPE
Offside front brake hose may chafe
Recall affected vehicles check and fit new pipe if necessary
POSSIBLE INCORRECT WIRING OF SIDE AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS
There is a possibility that the connections for the side airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners may have been inverted on the connectors for the airbag ECU. In the case of an impact there is a risk that the incorrect side airbag could be triggered.
Check and if required change over the wires concerned in the airbag connector.
ELECTRIC SLIDING REAR DOOR
Electric Sliding door may open inadvertently.
Recall affected vehicles and check and upgrade door control system ECU.
ELECTRICAL SIGNAL COULD NEUTRALISE THE SLIDING DOOR SAFETY LOCK
There is a possibility that the electric sliding doors may open whilst the vehicle is in motion.
Fit a replacement electronic control unit to the door.
FRONT HUB SECURITY
Front hub nut security pin may have been incorrectly fitted.
Recall affected vehicles check for correct fitment of pin and replace if necessary
POSSIBILITY OF CUTS IN TYRES.
Due to an incident during the vehicle manufacturing process there may be cuts in the side wall or tread of one or both of the tyres on the right hand side of the vehicle.
Examine the tyres fitted to the vehicle and replace any that are found to be cut.
POSSIBLE CHAFING OF WIRING LOOM
There is a possibility that the wiring loom may be damaged as a result of contact being made between components in the heater blower and gear lever. This may result in a short circuit and failure of the heater.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a protector and an additional grooved sleeve.
LEFT HAND MIRROR STEM MAY FRACTURE
The left hand mirror stem may fracture allowing the mirror to fall from the motorcycle.
Replace the left hand and right hand mirrors.
POSSIBLE INCORRECT BRAKE PIPE CONNECTIONS ON VEHICLES WITHOUT ABS
There is a possibility that the brake pipes may have been incorrectly connected. As a consequence failure in one hydraulic circuit may result in the vehicle veering to the left or right when the brakes are next applied.
Renew and reposition the brake pipe connections to comply with the specification.
POWER STEERING PIPE MAY CHAFE ON ALTERNATOR TERMINALS
The power steering rack to oil cooler pipe may chafe on the alternator cable terminal. This could cause an electrical short circuit and risk of fire in the facia trim above the driver's footwell also an oil leak and loss of power assistance to the steering.
Check the proximity of the power steering pipe to the alternator terminal. Cable tie the oil pipe clear of the alternator where appropriate replace any damaged pipes and alternator components. Fit a new alternator where found necessary.
POSSIBLE IMBALANCE UNDER HEAVY BRAKING.
The brake pipes leading into the ABS actuator may have been incorrectly positioned. This could cause an imbalance in performance under heavy braking.
Check and reposition the brake pipes if necessary.
POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION OF CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG
The crimping connector of the inflator cartridge may be incorrectly assembled with the curtain airbag on certain vehicles. In the event of airbag activation full deployment of the curtain shield cannot be guaranteed due to this condition.
Replace the curtain shield airbag.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK AND ENGINE SHUTDOWN.
The threaded portion of the water separator sensor sub assembly in the fuel filter may break if overtightened when fitting the sensor to the fuel filter housing following draining. This could result in a fuel leak and unscheduled shut down of the engine.
Examine the water separator sensor for damage and replace where necessary. In addition issue technical information to the dealers giving details of the torque specification for this component.
POSSIBILITY OF EARTH LEAD TERMINAL IN CAB COMING LOOSE
There is a possibility of the wiring terminal to the earth lead connections in the cab coming loose. This could cause intermittent electrical faults.
Check and where necessary tighten the earth connection.
