DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 14026–14050 of 15,570 recalls.
POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO TYRE DURING FITTING
Internal tyre tread may have been damaged during fitting which could lead to a loss of pressure.
Recall affected vehicles and replace all five tyres.
REAR BENCH SEAT MAY NOT LOCK IN PLACE
Rear bench seat in third row may not lock in place and tip forward during harsh deceleration
Recall affected vehicles and modify routing of check strap.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK AND ENGINE SHUTDOWN.
The threaded portion of the water separator sensor sub assembly in the fuel filter may break if overtightened when fitting the sensor to the fuel filter housing following draining. This could result in a fuel leak and unscheduled shut down of the engine.
Examine the water separator sensor for damage and replace where necessary. In addition issue technical information to the dealers giving details of the torque specification for this component.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
Carburettor accelerator pump diaphragm may swell and in the worst case break resulting in a fuel leak and possible risk of fire.
Recall affected machines and repace diaphragm.
INSUFFICIENT SEALING MAY CAUSE CORROSION ON THE BALL JOINT
Insufficient sealing may cause corrosion of the ball joint which leads to premature wear of the rear axle V stay
Recall affected vehicles check and if necessary replace ball joint.
WIRE HARNESS DAMAGE
The electrical wire harness may become damaged by burrs on the left upper frame tube. Damage to the harness may cause a short circuit which could stop the engine without warning.
All potentially affected machines will undergo an inspection and repair to remove the burrs. Protective tubing will be installed at the affected area of the main wire harness and the harness will be renewed if it is found to be damaged.
INSUFFICIENT SEALING MAY CAUSE CORROSION ON THE BALL JOINT
Insufficient sealing may cause corrosion of the ball joint which leads to premature wear of the rear axle V stay
Recall affected vehicles check and if necessary replace ball joint.
DOOR/BRAKE INTERLOCK INEFFECTIVE
There is a significant delay before the entrance/exit door handbrake interlock system closes the door.
(a) Write to operators and dealers requesting them to check the handbrake interlock time delay. (b) In those cases where the delay is longer than 3 to 4 seconds a pressure switch will be fitted to the handbrake air pipe working on 2 bar pressure. The dealers and Van Hool UK will carry out the modification.
POWER STEERING PUMP FILTER
Possibility of momentary loss of power from Power Steering hydraulic pump unit.
Recall affected vehicles and fit additional filter to pump suction line.
INCORRECT WIRING OF LATERAL AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS
There is a possibility that the connections for the side airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners may have been inverted on the connectors for the airbag ECU. In the case of an impact there is a risk that the incorrect side airbag could be triggered.
Recall affected vehicles and reverse the wires concerned in the Air Bag Connector
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
The fuel injection system pulsation damper may have been damaged during manufacture. As a consequence it may leak and cause a fire hazard in the presence of a heat or ignition source.
Fit a modified pulsation damper.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF POWER ASSISTED STEERING FLUID
An oversize hose clamp may allow a gradual loss of Power Assisted Steering Fluid over a period of time.
Recall affected vehicles and replace hose clamp with modified type.
LOOSENING OF FRONT SUSPENSION
Gradual loosening of the front suspension may result in noise and deterioration of the suspension and handling characteristics.
Replace the original equipment front suspension reinforcing plates and fasteners with modified components.
POSSIBLE FITMENT OF INCORRECT BRAKE DISC
Size 288mm x 15mm solid front brake discs may have been fitted instead of 288mm x 25mm ventilated discs. Because of the extra clearance required for the ventilated diisc a brake pad could fall out of the caliper as the pads wear down.
Examine the front brake discs on all potentially affected vehicles and rectify where found necessary.
POSSIBLE BREAKAGE OF FRONT SUSPENSION ARM.
Due to a manufacturing defect there is a potential risk of the front right or left suspension arm breaking if subjected to an impact.
Check the manufacturing markings on the suspension arms and replace where found necessary.
BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WARNING LIGHT MAY BECOME INOPERATIVE.
The brake fluid reservoir may expand temporarily during pressure bleeding of the system. This may cause the float of the fluid level sensor to seize or be displaced - resulting in non-operation of the warning light.
Check position and operation of the float and adjust where necessary. Additionally attach a caution label to the reservoir concerning the brake fluid bleeding pressure.
POSSIBLE FAULT IN AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE
A component inside the air bag control unit may become defective - Air bag may not deploy in a collision
Replace Air Bag control module
TRANSPOSED WIRING CONNECTIONS AT AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT.
The wiring connections to the left and right side lateral airbags may have been transposed. This could result in deployment of the incorrect airbag in a collision.
Check the wiring connections and correct them where found necessary.
MODIFICATION OF HANDBRAKE LEVER
The handbrake may not hold the vehicle stationary when parked if it is not applied as directed in the owner literature.
Fit a revised handbrake assembly with an improved leverage ratio.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF BRAKE SERVO ASSISTANCE
Vehicles may experience a vacuum leak in the EGR to Electronic Vacuum Regulator (EVM) tube. This may cause a loss of brake booster vacuum and require increased effort from the driver to operate the foot brake.
Inspect the vacuum tube from the EVM to the dash panel. Replace if damaged and re route the tube to eliminate interference with the exhaust shield.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF BRAKE SERVO ASSISTANCE
Vehicles may experience a loss of power assistance to the brakes due to a collapsed brake booster vacuum hose. This will result in increased effort being required from the driver to apply the foot brake.
Inspect the brake booster vacuum hose. If damaged the hose will be replaced. In either case the hose will be re routed to eliminate interference with the coolant recovery pipe.
POSSIBLE LEAK AT OIL COOLER HOSE CONNECTIONS.
In extreme circumstances the oil cooler/hose fixing bolts may become loose and allow oil to leak out and contaminate other parts of the motorcycle.
Fit a plate and longer fixing bolts to the oil cooler hose connections.
POSSIBLE FAULT IN AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE
A component inside the control module may become defective - Air bag may not deploy in a collision
Replace Air Bag control module.
REPROGRAMMING OF ENGINE ECU
Faulty software in the engine ECU will result in the engine exhaust emissions failing to comply with the regulations.
Re program the engine ECU.
