DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 13301–13325 of 15,570 recalls.
ENGINE MAY CUT OUT
In certain conditions it is possible for contaminated water to penetrate into the ignition coil causing the internal components to corrode. This can result in hard starting poor engine performance and in extreme cases cause the engine to cut out.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and fit a countermeasure ignition coil.
BRAKES MAY APPLY PREMATURELY
Due to the oversensitivity of the ESP system. It is possble in extenuating circumstances that the brakes can apply prematurely and cause the vehicle to slow down.
Recall the affected vehicles to install upgraded softwear.
PARKING BRAKE MAY NOT ENGAGE
Certain vehicles were produced with improperly manufactured parking brake pawls. This may cause the parking brake lever not to engage when applying the lever.
Recall the affected vehicles to have the pawls replaced with quality assured parts.
SUSPENSION CARRIER LINK MAY FAIL
Increased wear on the transversal compound spring front axle may lead to failure of a carrier link and the separation of the ball pivot and casing.
Recalled vehicles will be inspected and the suspension carrier links will be replaced if they are not of the latest type.
IGNITION SWITCH COULD MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE
It has been identified that the ignition switch could malfunction which with continuous use could cause the engine to stall and the lights to become inoperative.
Recalled machines will be fitted with a quality assured ignition switch.
REAR DOOR MAY NOT CLOSE CORRECTLY
The rear door outer handle may suffer from improper operation. This could result in the door failing to close properly.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject door inspected and if necessary the handle will be replaced
WHEEL TRIM CAN RUB ON THE TYRE SIDEWALL
Wheel trim can contact and damage tyre outer wall.
Recall affected vehicles replace wheel trims with modified type and replace any tyre which has been damaged by the trim if that damage meets MOT test fail requirements. This is being administered by VOSA.
DRIVE SHAFT MAY BECOME DETACHED
Left hand inner drive shaft joint retaining Circlip is of incorrect specification this may result in drive shaft joint not being held in the correct position. Under high speed driving conditions incorrect holding force of joint will result in loss of drive.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace with new quality assured circlip.
RISK OF FIRE
There is a possibility of a thermal malfunction on the fuel filter water separator bowl with the heater. This can result in overheating due to low fuel level in combination with a faulty thermostat in the water separator bowl
Recall affected vehicles fit heat shield and check/reconnect cable in the electrical connector on the fuel filter/water separator housing
SOUND DEADENING GUARD MAY BECOME DETACHED
It is possible for the fastenings of the sound deadening guard to become loose. Consequently the guard could become detached whilst the vehicle is in motion.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace all the fastenings with new captive fasteners and bolts.
FLYWHEEL MAY FAIL
The possibility exists that the two mass flywheel may fail due to the design of the through-flow restrictor in the clutch pressure pipe. In the worst case the failure can result in a vehicle fire.
Affected vehicles will be recalled to establish the manufacturer of the two-mass flywheel and if necessary replace the flywheel and breather of the clutch pressure pipe.
POSSIBILITY OF INADVERTENT AIRBAG ACTIVATION
The air conditioning condenser drainpipe may in some instances become blocked with the possibility that the condensate may leak into the passenger compartment and the air bag central control unit. This contamination may cause the air bag warning light to illuminate and in some cases; cause inadvertent activation of the air bag.
Likely to be affected vehicles will be recalled at which time the condensate drainpipe will be refitted; and re-profiled to remove any restriction.
BRAKE VACUUM ASSISTANCE MAY REDUCE
In some cases due to the non-compliance of the engine ECU software the engine failure warning lamp may illuminate. As a consequence the vacuum assistance available to the braking system may be reduced.
Recall affected vehicles and re-programme the engine ECU with updated software.
ROUTING OF BRAKE VACUUM PIPE MAY BE INCORRECT
In some cases due to the non compliant routing of the brake servo vacuum supply pipe damage to the pipe may occur with the possibility that braking assistance might be reduced.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject pipe checked and re-routed. Should any damage be found the pipe will be replaced.
POSSIBILITY THAT THE STEERING WHEEL MAY BECOME LOOSE ON THE COLUMN SPLINES
It is possible that the steering wheel may become loose on the steering column mounting splines which could eventually damage the splines.
Recall affected vehicles replace the steering wheel and mounting bolt with quality assured items.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO START THE ENGINE WITH THE CAB TILTED AND THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE.
The starter inhibit signal can fail to communicate with the engine ECU. This results in the possibility that the engine may be started from the chassis controls with the cab tilted and the transmission in drive.
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with an additional wiring harness which will prevent this occurring.
INCOMPATIBILITY OF TRACTOR/TRAILER LIGHTING CIRCUIT CAUSING TRAILER LIGHTING MALFUNCTION.
It has been established that the tractor/trailer lamp wiring circuits were not totally compatible. This resulted in malfunction of the trailer's lights and the register packs to fail.
Likely to be affected trailers will be reworked on a temporary basis by the fitment of bulbs (to replace the LED's) until such time a fully workable solution can be identified.
PARKING LEVER MAY NOT LOCK CORRECTLY
The parking lever when applied may not engage in the locked position.
Recall likely to be affected vehicles and fit a modified part to the parking brake lever assembly.
SUSPENSION MAY FAIL
Possibility of rear suspension trailing arm anchor pin bolt failing.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to retorque the suspension bolts and reset the suspension.
PARKING LEVER MAY NOT LOCK CORRECTLY
The parking lever when applied may not engage in the locked position.
Recall likely to be affected vehicles and fit a modified part to the parking brake lever assembly
PARKING LEVER MAY NOT LOCK CORRECTLY
The parking lever when applied may not engage in the locked position.
Recall likely to be affected vehicles and fit a modified part to the parking brake lever assembly.
PARKING LEVER MAY NOT LOCK CORRECTLY
The parking lever when applied may not engage in the locked position.
Recall likely to be affected vehicles and fit a modified part to the parking brake lever assembly.
HEATER COULD CATCH FIRE
There is a possiblility that a voltage surge may overload the independent cab heater electronic control which could damage the circuit card which could lead to a fire.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the fuse with one of a lower rating.
The DVLA archive lists recalls by make and model. Run a live VRM check to see whether your vehicle has an outstanding recall right now.
