REAR AXLE HUB MAY NOT BE TO SPECIFICATION
The hardening process applied to the rear wheel bearing inner ring may be incorrect. There is a possibility that a rumbling noise may become apparent which if not checked could in extreme circumstances result in the detachment of the hub and severely impaired road holding/handling.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the date stamp on the rear wheel hubs. Where necessary replace the hub bearing assembly.
POTENTIAL LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
It has been identified thatthe steering tie rod ends could separate during operation due either to wear or impact leading to loss of steering control. Prior to each and every ride Kawasaki strongly recommends that you inspect the tie rods according to the inspection procedure. If free play is found the machine should not be ridden until such time as a repair has been carried out. If no free play is found the machine should not be ridden in adverse or rough conditions and or with a heavy load. Should you feel incapable of carrying out the inspection your Kawasaki dealer should be contacted for advice.
Recalled machines will have the steering tie rods replaced with quality assured parts.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF BRAKING EFFICIENCY
This concern relates to right hand drive vehicles only. There may cases of the brake linkage lever being defectively assembled which may result in a loss of braking efficiency.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected check and where necessary reposition the brake pedal relay linkage lever.

POWER STEERING HOSE MAY FRACTURE AND LEAK FLUID.
The power steering hose is not manufactured to specification. Under extreme steering manoeuvres the hose may fracture and leak fluid. If this were to occur power steering assistance would be lost and vehicles fitted with Hydro-boos power brakes would loss power brake assistance. In addition if the fluid were to spray onto a hot surface this could result in an engine bay fire.
Recall affected vehicles and replace hose with a quality assured item.
BRAKES MAY FAIL
It is necessary to check the fitting of the pedal box transfer bar levers on (RHD only). In rare cases where the return bar lever is faulty the braking efficiency could be affected.
Recalled vehicles will have the transfer bar checked and replaced if found to be faulty.
