DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.

ENGINE MAY REVERT TO LIMP HOME MODE
The differential pressure sensor for the diesel particulate filter can fail due to contamination of the protective gel layer by exhaust gases. This will result in the car reverting to limp home mode (restricted engine speed).
Replace the differential pressure sensor with the latest modified type.

WELD SEAMS ON THE EXHAUST TAILPIPE MAY FAIL
The welded seams on the exhaust tailpipe may fail. This can cause rattling noises while driving and can result in the loss of the exhaust tailpipe if the driver continues to drive the vehicle.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the exhaust tailpipes with modified units.
BRAKE CALLIPER MOUNTING SCREWS MAY BECOME LOOSE
The bolts retaining the brake caliper carrier plates may become loose.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected replace the brake caliper carrier plates and fixings.
GEARBOX MAY DISENGAGE FROM THE PARK POSITION
Due to the possible non-conformity of the gearbox control there is a risk that the transmission may disengage from the parking position (without the footbrake having first been applied)
Recalled vehicles will have the conformity of the gearbox control checked and replaced as necessary.
FUEL TANK MAY LEAK
It has been identified that the retaining ring which fastens the fuel pump to the fuel tank may have been incorrectly fitted. This could result in fuel leaking from a full tank if the machine were to be placed on the side stand.
Recalled machines will have the original fuel pump retainer replaced with a new part.
BRAKES MAY APPLY INADVERTANTLY
If the wheel chair lift sensors signal that the lift is not in the stowed position the service brakes apply.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to disconnect this interlock and restore the braking system to factory standard. The lift is switched off after it has been used by means of an illuminated switch within reach of the driver that is standard fitment to this vehicle.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL
It has been identified that if the steering tie rod ends have been incorrectly aligned either at build or in use the seal which protects the ball-joint may be forced out of position allowing the ingress of contaminants ultimately resulting in early failure of the joint with possible loss of directional control.
Recalled machines will have the left and right hand steering tie rod ends replaced with those of a different design.
STEERING COLUMN MAY FOUL
It has been identified that the steering column universal joint may make rubbing contact with the column's outer casing. It is not thought that this will cause the steering to lock up.
Recalled vehicles will have a small part of the column retaining lug removed.
AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY
The incorrect fixing of the left hand curtain airbag can lead to incorrect deployment in the case of a left hand side impact or frontal impact with a high degree of angular bias to the left.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and re-fix the airbag correctly.
RISK OF FIRE
There is a risk of damage (shorting) between the cable connections and glow plugs due to insufficient torque on the connector securing nuts on the relay end posts.
Recall affected vehicles check the security of the glow plug relay cables and if required replace the glow plug relay.
REAR AXLE HUB MAY NOT BE TO SPECIFICATION
The hardening process applied to the rear wheel bearing inner ring may be incorrect. There is a possibility that a rumbling noise may become apparent which if not checked could in extreme circumstances result in the detachment of the hub and severely impaired road holding/handling.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the date stamp on the rear wheel hubs. Where necessary replace the hub bearing assembly.
FRONT SUSPENSION MAY COLLAPSE AND LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
There is a possibility that the front lower suspension swivel joints may fracture. If this occurs steering control will be lost.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace both of the front lower suspension swivel joints.
CONTROL SYSTEM BALL JOINT MAY FAIL
There is a concern that the Carospeed control may have been fitted incorrectly in that the ball joint may not be fully tight which can lead to a failure of the service brake.
To address the concern the manufacturer has instructed conversion companies to ensure that the subject ball joint is tight. Additionally technicians will visit customers to validate their particular installation.
POSSIBILITY THAT TYRE MAY SUFFER A RAPID LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE
It is possible for the tyre's sidewall components to blister. Further deterioration may then occur which could lead to rapid deflation of the tyre.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the tyres.
REVERSE GEAR MAY UNEXPECTEDLY ENGAGE
As the user of the machine downshifts it can be possible for reverse gear to unexpectedly engage without the use of the Reverse Assist Lever.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and install a kit of parts to the gearbox which will prevent the above situation occurring.
RISK OF FIRE IN CAB
The possibility exists that due to an electrical overload within the ECU of the night heater there is a risk of a fire within the cab.
Recalled vehicles will have a supplementary fused wiring harness fitted.
AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY AS DESIGNED
Incorrect manufacture of the rear bench seat bolsters could in the case of an impact hinder the deployment of the rear lateral airbags.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and fit modified seat bolsters.
REAR SEAT LOCK SPRINGS MAY NOT BE CORRECTLY LOCATED
The mountings for the rear bench seat runners may not be correctly secured into the floor.
Recall the likely to be affected vehicles and check the security of the back seat bench. If necessary re-lock the back seat bench runner mountings into the floor.
AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY DETACH ON DEPLOYMENT
During air bag deployment it is possible that the passenger's airbag inflator may separate from its housing. Whilst unlikely it is possible that the separated inflator could cause slight injury to the front seat passenger.
Affected vehicles will have the front passenger's airbag module replaced with a quality assured part.

Affected vehicles will have the front passenger's airbag module replaced with a quality assured part.
ROOF PANEL MAY DISPLACE
Interior roof panel may displace and fall to the floor
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and modify with modified scew fixings extrusions and brackets as necessary.
WIPER ARM MAY FRACTURE
It has been identified that during the manufacturing process a notch may have been formed on the wiper arm which in extreme cases can cause the arm to fracture.
Recalled vehicles will have the wiper arm inspected and replaced if found to be suffering from this defect.
