RISK OF REAR WHEELS LOCKING UP WHEN DRIVING.
Water may be present in the rear brake actuators which in certain circumstances can cause the rear brakes to lock up when driving.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to drain any water from the rear brake actuators.
FIFTH WHEEL SUBFRAME MOUNTING BOLTS INCORRECTLY TIGHTENED
It has been identified that during production the fifth wheel sub-frame mounting bolts were not tightened to the correct torque.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject bolts checked for the correct torque.
RISK OF FIRE
There is a possibility of a non conformity of the engine cooling motor fan unit which can result in a failure of the unit or exceptionally in local overheating that can result in combustion of the unit.
Recall affected vehicles and replace the motor fan unit.
WATER INGRESS INTO MAIN WIRING HARNESS
It has been identified that under certain circumstances such as heavy rain or cleaning with a high pressure washer. Water may enter the main wiring harness giving the potential to create engine running problems.
Recalled machines will have the subject wiring checked and replaced as necessary.
CAMBELT MOBILE TENSIONER MAY FAIL
It has been identified that the cambelt tensioners can lock against the cylinder cover which can result in damage to the cambelt.
Recalled machines will have the tensioners replaced.
SIDE STAND MAY FAIL
Under certain circumstances the side-stand bracket may break possibly causing the motorcycle to fall over if resting on the stand at the time.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the side stand bracket and to check and where necessary replace the wiring harness.
FUEL MAY LEAK
It has been identified that on the subject machines the clamps on the fuel supply lines may not have been tightened to the correct torque. Should the torque be incorrect a fuel leak may ensue.
Recalled machines will have the fuel line clamps checked and tightened to the correct torque as necessary.
ROAD WHEEL MAY BECOME DETACHED
It has been identified that affected vehicles have been fitted with wheel retaining bolts which do not conform to the dimensional specification. This can result in the wheel bolts becoming loose with the possibility that a wheel might detach.
Affected vehicles will be fitted with wheel bolts manufactured to the correct dimensional specification.
FRONT BRAKE MAY FAIL
It has been identified that the routing of the front brake hose may be incorrect as a result of manufacture or service due to an error in the service manual. This can cause the hose to contact the underside of the ignition switch body or the screw situated at the right hand side of the steering head. Continued use in this condition can lead to damage of the front brake hose with eventual leakage and resulting in the possibility of brake failure.
Recalled machines will have the front brake hose checked for routing position of the damper and condition. The hose damper will be repositioned as required and the hose replaced should this prove to be necessary.
SIDE STAND MAY DETACH
Due to a possibly misaligned weld the side stand may not be able to retain its load bearing capability in all circumstances.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the frame bottom section.
RISK OF FIRE
It has been identified that the potential exists for the generation of an oil leak caused by the turbo oil supply pipe becoming loose. Should an oil leak from this component occur the possibility exists that a fire could ensue.
Recalled vehicles will have the turbo oil supply pipe checked and replaced as necessary.
ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT MAY ILLUMINATE
On petrol engined vehicles it has been found that the PCV (Positive Crank Ventilation) nipple may crack or become loose resulting in an air leak. This could cause a whistling sound and may cause the engine malfunction lamp to operate.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the PCV nipple.
HEATING ELEMENT MAY OVERHEAT
The additional air heater heating element earth connection may overheat and in the most unfavourable cases may lead to a fire.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check that the earth connection is sufficiently tight.
DRIVER'S SEAT MAY COLLAPSE SHOULD THE ADJUSTING MECHANISM BE SUBJECT TO WEAR.
It has been identified that under intensive operational conditions the driver's seat mechanism can wear and allow the seat to collapse.
Recalled vehicles will have the driver's seat exchanged.
STEERING CONTROL MAY BE LOST
It has been identified that on a certain number of 2007 model year vehicles the front lower suspension control arms might fracture near the bushing due to a production deviation during the welding process. The control arm may then lack rigidity; which may impair driving stability. In the worst case the driver may loose control of the vehicle.
Subject vehicles will have the control arm welds checked and replaced as necessary.
ENGINE MAT STALL
Engine may stall and/or exhibit abnormal running.
Recall affected machines check and if necessary replace throttle body TPS sensor.
ENGINE MAT STALL
Engine may stall and/or exhibit abnormal running.
Recall affected machines check and if necessary replace throttle body TPS sensor.
RISK OF FIRE
Starter relay contacts may short circuit due to vibration.
Recall affected machines and fit rubber mounting for starter relay.
POSSIBILITY OF A FUEL LEAK AND RISK OF FIRE
Due to the incorrect profiling of a rigid fuel pipe at the quick fit connection with the flexible fuel pipe for the injection manifold. The possibility exists that a fuel leak may develop at the connector and result in a fire in the engine compartment.
Recalled vehicles will have a locking insert fitted within the quick fit connector in order to prevent the connector from becoming loose.
FUEL MAY LEAK
In the event of the vehicle being involved in an accident fuel may leak from the fuel tank.
Recalled vehicles will have the production date of the fuel tank checked. The tank will be replaced if found to be within the affected range.
ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR
Wiring harness from starter to alternator may detach power supply will fail and wiring may short circuit.
Recall affected vehicles check and if necessary replace harness.
FUEL MAY LEAK
In the event of the vehicle being involved in an accident fuel may leak from the fuel tank.
Recalled vehicles will have the production date of the fuel tank checked. The tank will be replaced if found to be within the affected range.
GEARBOX HEAT SHIELD IS NOT AS PER SPECIFICATION
The incorrect gearbox heat shield has been assembled which does not fulfil the manufacturers demand regarding fire resistance.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the heat shield.
