DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 12626–12650 of 15,570 recalls.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL
Oil may leak from the Power Take Off Unit which may cause the unit to seize and possible loss of vehicle control.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to apply sealant to the core plug and to fit a retaining clip.
ABS SENSOR MOUNT & DRIVERS SEAT RUNNER MAY BECOME LOOSE
The rear ABS sensor mountings may come loose which may lead to the rear ABS not working.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to tighten the ABS sensor mounting fixing screws.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER MAY NOT TRIGGER IN AN IMPACT
It has been identified that the front passenger seatbelt pretensioner has not been configured correctly. In the event of an impact the pretensioner will not trigger. The front seat passenger will however still be retained by the seatbelt but without the pretensioner function.
Recalled vehicles will have the front passenger seatbelt configured.
STEERING MAY FAIL
The steering column universal joint may fail which will lead to the loss of directional control.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit quality assured components.
FUEL MAY LEAK
It has been identified that when the fuel tank is filled to it's maximum capacity fuel may leak from the filler neck aperture.
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a fuel cap which incorporates an anti-splash valve.
STEERING JOINT BOLT MAY FAIL
The nut and bolt that clamp the track rod end to the track rod may be defective resulting in the clamping force applied being insufficient.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the nuts and bolts for the track rod end clamp.
FUEL MAY LEAK
It has been identified that when the fuel tank is filled to it's maximum capacity fuel may leak from the filler neck aperture.
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a fuel cap which incorporates an anti-splash valve.
FUEL MAY LEAK
Under certain conditions the fuel tank may crack at the front and rear mounting tabs. This can allow fuel to leak causing the risk of fire.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the fuel tank dampers and where necessary replace the fuel tank.
TACHOGRAPH SPEED SENSOR NOT SEALED CORRECTLY
It has been identified that the speed sensor on the gearbox is not correctly sealed.
Recalled vehicles will have the sensor sealed correctly and the tachograph re-calibrated.
TACHOGRAPH SPEED SENSOR NOT SEALED CORRECTLY
It has been identified that the speed sensor on the gearbox is not correctly sealed.
Recalled vehicles will have the sensor sealed correctly and the tachograph re-calibrated.
SEAT BELT MAY FAIL IN A COLLISION
It has been identified that on some vehicles fitted with electrically controlled seats in very rare cases and under certain impact conditions the front seatbelt may provide a diminished level of restraint.
As a preventative measure subject vehicles will have the front seatbelt buckles replaced.
WHEEL SEPERATION MAY OCCUR
Insufficient grease may have been applied to the front wheel bearings which could result in the very worst cases in detachment of the wheel and hub.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the front wheel bearings.
ENGINE MOUNTING BOLT MAY FAIL
No 4 Engine mounting tightening bolt may loosen if a sudden acceleration is repeatedly carried out. If vehicle is continually used under such conditions No 4 mounting bolt may drop off and break allowing transmission to be out of position and in the worst case the driveshaft may detach resulting in loss of drive.
Recall affected vehicles to check mounting bolt torque and if necessary replace bolt with modified version.
BRAKE FLUID MAY LEAK
It has been identified that a brake pipe may chafe against the cylinder head. Should this occur there is a possibility that brake fluid will be lost from one of the two braking circuits.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject brake pipes checked adjusted for position or replaced as necessary.
STEERING MAY FAIL
It has been identified that some MAN TGL vehicles may have a problem with the steering shaft universal joint which may have been inserted too far over the teeth of the steering transmission shaft. This could result in the teeth failing to be adequately engaged with the consequence if ignored that the steering could fail.
Recalled vehicles will have the connection between the steering shafts checked. The components will be replaced if they show signs of damage.
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT MAY DE-LATCH
It has been identified that in the event of a situation which requires activation of the driver's seat belt tensioner. The possibility exists that due to an unfavourable pulse within the seatbelt buckle tensioner mechanism the buckle may open inadvertently.
Recalled vehicles will have the relevant electronic control units reprogrammed.
ELECTRIC CABLE MAY OVERHEAT
It has been identified that the B+ electrical cable has been routed so that it is in contact with the compressor pipe. This can result in the cable becoming hot with the likelihood of damage occurring to the insulation.
Recalled vehicles will have the cable routed and secured to prevent it contacting the compressor pipe.
BATTERY POSITIVE CABLE MAY BE DAMAGED
It has been identified that the battery positive cable could come into contact with the compressor outlet pipe and suffer damage as a consequence.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject cable secured with a cable tie.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
The handlebar mounting plate is contained within a moulded rubber vibration insulator on the steering post which may fail as a result of excessive loading and or cyclic fatigue. Should failure occur steering control might be lost.
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a steering post support bracket which will eliminate the possibility of a fatigue failure.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL
It has been identified that the castings of some front bearing carriers have been produced with insufficient material thickness in an area where the lower a-arm and ball joint are attachedto the front bearing carrier. Should the attachment point for the lower a-arm and ball-joint fai vehicular control may be lost.
Recalled vehicles will have the front bearing carriers replaced with quality assured units.
SEAT BELT STALK MAY FAIL
Non-conformity of weld attaching the seat belt buckle brackets to passenger seat frames. Affecting all passenger compartment seat locations.
Recall the Minibuses within the affected poplulation and fit a modified (bolted) belt buckle to the seat frame.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF VEHICULAR CONTROL
It has been identified that a situation could exist with the Avit disabled vehicle electronic accelerator/brake/steering system which might cause the equipment to malfunction. .
Recalled vehicles which will be fitted with a countermeasure to prevent any possible short circuit within the electronic control system.
FRONT SUSPENSION STRUT TO KNUCKLE CLAMPING BOLT INSUFFICIENT TORQUE
It has been identified that the front suspension strut to knuckle clamping bolt torque might be insufficient. The possibility therefore exists that should the assembly move within it's mounting the tyre may contact the wheel arch. Additionally in the case of FWD vehicles the shock absorber could contact the driveshaft.
Subject vehicles will have the suspension strut checked for correct positioning and the clamp bolt tightened to the revised torque.
TRAILER BRAKES MAY NOT APPLY
Parking brake may not apply when manually operated or when red line is disconnected
When likely to be affected vehicles are presented for routine maintenance the Pownall Trailer Park Brake Control valve is to be replaced with a modified version.
