TOW BAR MAY DETACH
Vehicles fitted with a MOPAR brand tow bar there is a possibility the tow bar may allow the towed vehicle to become detached from the tow vehicle. This may result in a loss of control and a crash without warning.
Repair is to replace the cross tube and all associated mountings. Most vehicles will not have this type of tow bar fitted.
TAILGATE MAY OPERATE INCORRECTLY
The wiring loom to the tailgate may have been routed incorrectly. This could cause damage to the wiring and amongst other things the boot to open inadvertently.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and if necessary replace the tailgate wiring harness.
SEAT BELT MAY NOT RETRACT CORRECTLY
It is possible for the retractor mechanism to allow the webbing to pay out to its full extent. This would result in the occupant not being fully restrained in their seat. This situation would only occur in extreme circumstances during a collision.
Recall and replace all affected belts.
PARKING BRAKE EFFICIENCY CAN BE AFFECTED
It is possible that the transfer box output shaft may not be to specification. This can allow oil to leak between the output shaft and the drive flange. This can result in oil entering the parking brake drum and contaminating the brake linings which can affect the parking brake efficiency.
Recall all affected vehicles for the cleaning and resealing of the drive flange to output shaft plus the replacement of any contaminated brake linings.
WINDSCREEN WIPER MOTOR MAY FAIL
On affected vehicles an internal nonconformity in the drivers side windscreen wiper motor may lead over time to the failure of the windscreen wiper mechanism.
Replacement of drivers side windscreen wiper motor.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL
The material of the steering arm bolts may not be to specification. As a result the bolts could crack and if not rectified the bolts could eventually fail totally causing loss of directional control.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the steering arm bolts.

HANDBRAKE MAY FAIL
It is possible that the handbrake cable may detach from the handbrake lever due to an issue with the quality of the weld on the cable pivot post and the lever. In the worst case this could cause a release of the handbrake.
Recall affected vehicles and replace the handbrake lever plus associated components.
FIRE MAY OCCUR
The layout of the ABS wiring maybe incorrect in the area of the battery holding unit. The wiring may on some vehicles maybe trapped and pinched exposing wiring in some area. this may cause damage and in extreme cases a potential risk of fire.
Repair to inspect and repair the wiring using industry accepted soldered connectors

SUSPENSION MAY FAIL
Under certain circumstances the rear shock absorber inner rod may detach which will have an adverse affect on the function of the rear suspension and likewise the control of the machine will also be affected.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the rear shock absorber with a modified part.
DISC MAY NOT CONFORM TO SPECIFICATION
As a result of excessive brake disc thickness variation it is possible that when braking heavily from very high speeds (in excess of 100mph) the brakes may judder and the vehicle may develop a wobble.
Recall the potentially affected brake discs and exchange for quality assured units.
LOSS OF POWER
Gear selection may be affected by inaccurate software being installed.
The recalled vehicles will be subject to a software upgrade.
REDUCTION IN BRAKING PERFORMANCE DUE TO INCORRECT TOOL SPEC
Use of the brake service tool MSB1010 MST1010 or MST1010VT could result in the incorrect fitment or damage to the operating shaft outer seal known as the Gama Seal. Under certain conditions this could allow the ingress of water or other contaminates into the brake which could result in the gradual deterioration of the braking performance.
The offending tool will be returned to ArvinMeritor and replaced.

SUPPORT MEMBER MAY CRACK
It is possible that stress cracks may occur in the offside main support member within the engine bay which could affect the vehicle structural performance if it is involved in an accident.
Recall affected vehicles for the inspection of the subject member and report findings to Volvo Car UK Ltd; who will then decide on the level of the repair.

WATER INGRESS MAY CAUSE REDUCED BRAKING PERFORMANCE
It has been established that a number of re-manufactured D-Lisa brake calipers may have an incorrect fitment or damage operating shaft outer seal known as the Gama Seal. Under certain conditions this could allow the ingress of water or other contaminates into the brake which could result in the gradual deterioration of the braking performance.
Recall the affected calipers for a check and if found out of specification/damaged replace them.
SUSPENSION MAY FAIL
In an isolated number of cases it is possible that the lower suspension swivel/ball joint mounting rivets can become detached. This may in extreme cases if not identified result in a possible detachment of the joint.
Recall all affected vehicles to relace the lower suspension arm and swivel/ball joint.
OIL MAY LEAK
It has been identified that the centrifugal filter screw cap to the engine oil cooler module on a specific number of vehicles may loosen resulting in oil leakage onto the road surface.
This recall is to replace the centrifugal oil filter with a quality improved version.
