REAR BRAKE MAY FAIL
On eligible units of 1400 GTR and 1400GTR ABS models small stones or other road debris can become trapped between the rear brake pedal and guard and prevent the pedal from fully releasing. This can cause over heating potentially leading to rear brake damage and lock up or failure of the rear brake. On 14 GTR ABS models with K-ACT the front brake may also be affected because it is linked with rear brake operation.
The repair consists of replacing the rear master cylinder rod end and removing the guard.
SEAT BELT MOUNTING BRACKET MAY FAIL
Some seat belt mounting bracket bolt/studs may be out of specification as they may have suffered Hydrogen Embrittlement during production. Occupants will normally notice the failure by the looseness or detachment of seat belt brackets. If the issue is not rectified occupants may not be restrained in their seat if the vehicle is involved in a collision.
Recall affected vehicles and replace the seat belt mounting brackets.
STEERING COMPONENTS MAY NOT BE TORQUED TO SPECIFICATION
a) Exhaust Butterfly cable support replacement - excess heat from the catalytic converter could cause the cable support to melt or burn. b) Ohlins Steering damper bearing - the uniball bearing could slip out of its seat. c) Steering damper retaining screws - two retaining damper screws may slacken from original torque setting. d) Swinging arm shafts RH and LH shafts need to be checked for correct tightness torque. e) Front Brake master cylinder fluid reservoir tube - the front brake master cylinder fluid reservoir connection tube may interfere with the reservoir retaining screw.
a) Exhaust Butterfly cable support will be replaced with a new part of higher heat rating. b) Steering damper bearing It is necessary to install the retaining washer to prevent this. c) It is necessary to tighten the steering damper screws with appropriate threadlocker applied ot the original torque setting. d) Check Swinging arm shafts RH and LH for correct tightness torque. e) It is necessary to replace the nut with a new washer and re-designed retaining nut.
SUNROOF GLASS MAY SHATTER
The glass sunroof may suddenly break at temperature's below -20 degrees C. This normally happens when the vehicle is parked. When it breaks the single pane safety glass disintegrates into small pieces. A slight risk of injury to the occupants cannot be ruled out.
The glass sun roof will be replaced.
SIDE STAND MAY BREAK
It has been identified there is a manufacturing error in the side stand of the machine. This error can result in the side stand failing and the machine falling over.
Recall affected machines and replace the side stand with a new quality assured component.
BRAKE LIGHT MAY FAIL
The brake lever travel range specification has been deemed to be too broad to ensure that the switch actuation point and corresponding brake-light activation will occur prior to moderate front brake application. This condition could lead to the brake-light not activating when moderate front braking is applied. Failure of the brake-light to activate when slowing down the motorcycle using moderate front braking may cause a hazard to drivers behind the motorcycle. This could lead to a possible crash and potential injury or death of the rider.
Replacement of the front brake system brake-light switch with a switch manufactured to a revised actuation range that ensures brake-light activation prior to moderate front braking action.

SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR
These motorcycles have a Battery Management System (BMS) printed circuit board (PCB) with insufficient weatherproofing compound on its connector pins. This condition could cause adjacent pairs of the BMS PCB connector pins to short-circuit when subjected to wet conditions. Short-circuiting of the BMS PCB connector pins could cause the motorcycle to inadvertently lose power which could lead to a possible crash and potential injury or death of the rider.
Affected machines will be recalled to be thoroughly cleaned and have weatherproofing compound applied to the BMS PCB connector pins.

EPS MAY NOT PERFORM AS SPECIFIED
Due to a component in the integrated control module not being to specification it is possible power steering assistance may fail. If this happens the EPS warning lamp will illuminate and a check control message will appear on the dashboard display. Directional control will be maintained albeit with additional driver input.
Recall vehicles likely to be affected to replace the steering box.

DOOR MAY NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
On a small number of vehicles the Hartalite entrance door from the habitational area has been found to be faulty. This fault results in the occupier being unable to open the door manually from inside the vehicle.
Doors will be checked and adjusted as necessary.
