POSSIBLE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE

    Defect

The torque sensor of the electric power steering assistance may be damaged which can adversely affected the tightness of the housing and allow water ingress. The defect could lead to failure of the torque sensor and consequently shut off the steering power assistance and lead to an elevated risk of collision.

    Remedy

Recall the vehicle that is likely to be affected and replace the electric power steering.

BENCH SEAT MAY MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING

    Defect

The beach seat base mounting screws may break when the bench is repeatedly repositioned to allow a flat load area. Should this happen a noise will be heard from the bench. In exceptional cases if the screw has broken this may cause a loss of protection during an impact.

    Remedy

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and inspect the vehicle. A metal insert will be fitted between the seatback folding pivot and the mounting screw (left and right). Additionally the mounting screws (left and right) will also be replaced.

SIDE AIRBAGS MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY OR THEY MAY DEPLOY INCORRECTLY

    Defect

The airbag computer (ECU) incorrectly interprets the data provided by the lateral shock sensors and can reverse it. In the event of a side impact that is severe enough to cause side air bag deployment there is a risk of either non-deployment or activation of the airbags on the opposite side to the impact

    Remedy

On affected vehicles re-programme of the airbag ECU

    RISK OF FIRE

    Defect

The vehicles may have been manufactured with heat shields that are inadequate. The resulting issue could lead to the cab or cargo box overheating which may pose a fire hazard. Revised shields will also provide additional protection from flammable liquid spills that may pose a separate fire hazard. Consumers should immediately stop using the affected vehicles.

    Remedy

    RISK OF FIRE

    Defect

The vehicles may have been manufactured with an improperly routed fuel tank vent line (i) having insufficient clearance to the exhaust pipe; (ii) which may cause it to become kinked. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles. A fuel tank vent line with insufficient clearance to the exhaust pipe may pose a fire hazard. A kinked vent line can cause the fuel tank to build pressure and expand. The expansion of the fuel tank may result in contact of the spinning prop shaft which may result in a fuel leak.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and inspect the fuel tank vent line. Repair/reroute the vent line as necessary.

    BRAKING PERFORMANCE MAY BE AFFECTED

    Defect

Three vehicles have been built with extended chassis/wheel base. The Yaw sensor has been displaced to a spot which does not correspond to the specific location and position. It cannot be ruled out that undefined or incorrect brake intervention may occur in the event of ESP intervention. Additionally the sensor may not recognise critical situations. The above can lead to an increased risk of collision/incident.

    Remedy

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the location of the Yaw sensor. Where necessary move the sensor to the prescribed position.

    REAR BRAKE MAY FAIL

    Defect

The rear brake pipe joint may not have been sufficiently tightened when the machine was manufactured. Continuous use of the rear brake and vibration from riding may cause the brake pipe joint to leak brake fluid. Consequently when the rear brake lever is applied poor/no brake operation will result and in the worst case scenario a crash may occur.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and for all affected units the tightening torque of the pipe joint bolt will be checked if it passes inspection then fluid level will be topped up only if it fails then the bolt will be re-torqued and the brake system will be bled.
