DRIVE CHAIN MAY STRETCH COME OFF OR BREAK

    Defect

When upshifting between first and second gear if the rider fails to engage second gear a neutral condition will exist continued opening of the throttle will cause high engine RPM. If the rider shifts in to second gear without disengaging the clutch under the very high RPM condition an excess load can be applied to the powertrain. This could cause the drive chain to stretch and in the worst case the drive chain could come off or break.

    Remedy

Replace ECM. Inspect drive chain if free play is detected replace drive chain assembly.

BATTERY MAY FAIL TO CHARGE WHICH COULD CAUSE ENGINE TO STALL AND LIGHTS TO FADE

    Defect

Due to incorrect software in the Engine Control Module (ECM) the ENG A-STOP (Engine Auto Stop Start System) OFF light may blink & the ENG A-STOP system may become inoperative.
