Removal of alternator to main harness connector

    Defect

On affected vehicles under specific environmental conditions a localised high impedance area can occur within the connector leading to high current though small contact areas. This can lead to excessive heat causing the connector to deform. In this event the alternator may not continue to provide energy to the system which may lead to a low battery warning and cause the bike to power off as well as potential thermal/degradation concerns.

    Remedy

Removal of Alternator to Main Harness Connector.

CR311 Replacement of rigid duct for rear brake hose

    Defect

Potential malfunction of the rear brake.

    Remedy

Replacement of rigid duct for rear brake hose located on the swinging arm. Background: To further improve the thermal protection of the rear braking system thereby reducing exposure to heat from the rear bank exhaust manifold a new elongated rigid duct complete with a specific heat reflective sleeve has been designed and introduced for the rear brake hose. The heat reflective sleeve must be intact and left in place during the upgrade. This CR311 replaces and cancels the CR285. Bikes already updated with the CR285: must ALSO perform this new upgrade. Bikes not yet updated with the CR285: must ONLY perform this upgrade.
