REAR BRAKE HOSE MAY CHAFE SUSPENSION
When fully loaded the rear brake hoses may contact the anti roll-bar upper attachments and a plastic shield. This could damage the hoses and cause fluid loss with a consequent reduction in braking efficiency.
Recall the affected vehicles for rerouting of the rear brake hoses. Any hose found to be damaged will be replaced.
SECURITY OF SEAT BELT
A number of the subject vehicles have been fitted with seat belts manufactured by TRW the attachment systems of which may not remain secure in an accident situation.
Recall the affected vehicles check the date of production on the seat belt buckles and replace those within the critical batch.
FAILURE OF POWER STEERING PUMP
A gear wheel in the power steering pump may crack causing loss of steering power assistance.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the power steering pump with a unit having a production date of 20A96 or greater.

THE REAR SUSPENSION DAMPER ROD MAY BREAK
Under certain operating conditions there is a possibility that the rear suspension unit damper rod may break.
Recall the affected machines for replacement of the original suspension units with re-designed versions.
MISALIGNMENT OF STEERING COLUMN
The steering column may have been misaligned during assembly. This could cause fatigue in the column and result in loss of steering control.
Recall the affected vehicles for inspection of the steering column. Where misalignment is found the steering column assembly will be replaced.
FRACTURE OF METAL BRAKE PIPE
As a result of vibration the metal pipe from the brake master cylinder to the residual pressure valve may fracture resulting in the loss of the rear braking circuit. Because of the unique body design specific to one customer in the UK market no other

RESTRICTED MOVEMENT OF HANDBRAKE PAWL
As a result of insufficient lubrication at the initial assembly the handbrake pawl operating rod may not have sufficient movement. This could inhibit its correct engagement in the teeth of the of the handbrake ratchet.
Recall the affected vehicles for inspection of the handbrake unit and lubrication of the pawl mechanism. Any damaged parts will be replaced at the inspection.
SECURITY OF STUB AXLE MOUNTINGS
The three bolts which secure the stub axle to the spring strut may not have been fully torqued on initial assembly.
Recall the affected vehicles and check the torque setting on the bolts involved retorqueing as required. Any bolts found to have been loose (as distinct from being insufficiently torqued) will be replaced.
INSECURITY OF TAIL PIPE COVER SLEEVE
The cover sleeve on the exhaust tail pipe may have been attached by two instead of four spot welds. There is therefore a possibility that the cover sleeve could detach from the tail pipe whilst driving.
The affected vehicles will be recalled to Porsche dealers for inspection. Any tail pipes where the cover sleeves are attached by two welds will be replaced with four weld version pipes.
DAMAGE TO FRONT BRAKE HOSES
The protective wire shroud on the front brake hoses may contact and in extreme cases puncture the rubber outer casing of the hose. This would allow fluid to escape and adversely affect the braking system.

FUEL TANK PROTECTION
In the event of an exhaust tail pipe fracture an unacceptably high level of heat radiation may occur in the area surrounding the fuel tank.
Recall the affected vehicles for the installation of a protective shield over the fuel tank.
INSECURITY OF FAN BLADE
The pulley on the engine cooling fan may loosen causing the fan motor to seize leading to a possible electrical overload with fire risk.
Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of a modified cooling fan and pulley.

BRAKE CHAMBER CLAMP BOLT MAY FOUL FRONT BRAKE HOSE ELBOW CONNECTOR
Under certain operating conditions the front axle brake chamber clamp bolt could foul the brake pipe elbow fitting where it passes through the chassis frame.
Recall the affected vehicles and rotate the brake chamber clamp bolts through 90 degrees so that they are retained in the vertical position.
ENGINE BAY WIRING HARNESS DAMAGE
The engine bay wiring harness may be incorrectly routed allowing it to come into contact with components within the engine bay. This could result in damage to the harness.
Recall the affected vehicles to re-route and install extra protection to the wiring harness. At the same time edge protection will be applied to certain brackets within the engine compartment to eliminate the risk of future chafing. Any damage already

A number of vehicles have been built where due to material inclusions the cab pivot/steering box mounting brackets are below the manufacturers specification.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the subject bracket with one which is quality assured.
INSECURITY OF BRAKE PEDAL
The nut securing the brake pedal may not have been tightened to the specified torque. If this is not corrected it could allow detachment of the pedal.
Recall the affected vehicles remove the relevant nut apply locking compound to the threads and replace and tighten the nut to the manufacturers specified torque.
UNSATISFACTORY COUPLING OF BRAKE ACTUATING RODS
The method of coupling the two sections of the brake actuating rod is unsatisfactory.
The operators of all the affected trailers will be contacted and provided with a modified brake rod coupling pin.
FAILURE OF BRAKING SYSTEM VACUUM ASSISTANCE
The brake vacuum pump may cease to provide vacuum assistance. Should this occur greater brake pedal pressure would be needed and stopping distances may be increased.
