POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO FUEL TANK DURING VEHICLE ASSEMBLY COULD RESULT IN A FUEL LEAK
Possible damage to fuel tank caused during production installation of Spider roof mechanism. A fixing screw of the roof mechanism trim cover may make contact with the fuel tank and cause possible leakage.
Recall affected vehicles for examination and replacement of fuel tank if found necessary.
STEERING COLUMN SHAFT CLAMP BOLT MAY HAVE BEEN INSUFFICIENTLY TIGHTENED
Due to possible incorrect alignment of the splines it is possible that the steering column shaft clamp bolt may be insufficiently tightened.
Recall affected vehicles and examine column shaft for correct alignment of the splines. Check that column clamp bolt has been tightened to the specified torque.
REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK BOLT MAY BECOME LOOSE
Rear suspension toe link to hub carrier securing bolt may become loose and cause unstable handling.
Remove and examine the subject securing bolt renew bolt where found necessary ensure that threads are clean apply approved locking compound refit and tighten bolt to the specified torque.
FRONT SEAT SHOULDER BELTS ADJUSTABLE ANCHORS MAY HAVE INADEQUATE STRENGTH
The front shoulder belt adjustable anchors on affected vehicles may have been improperly manufactured and could have inadequate strength. An anchor with inadequate strength may allow the front shoulder belt to separate from the anchor under certain accident conditions.
To correct this condition both front shoulder belt adjustable anchors must be replaced.
FRONT SEAT SHOULDER BELTS ADJUSTABLE ANCHORS MAY HAVE INADEQUATE STRENGTH
The front shoulder belt adjustable anchors on affected vehicles may have been improperly manufactured and could have inadequate strength. An anchor with inadequate strength may allow the front shoulder belt to separate from the anchor under certain accident conditions.
To correct this condition both front shoulder belt adjustable anchors must be replaced.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT OVERHEATING AND CONSEQUENTIAL FIRE RISK
If a vehicle is operated in a condition where the engine bay temperature becomes excessively hot due to a defect with the vehicle there is a possible risk of damage to air supply pipes and noise insulation material and a possible risk of fire.
Recall affected vehicles and replace turbocharger aluminium heat shield with a fibre version. Remove foam noise insulation material from panels. Fit new type noise insulation panels/heat shields as appropriate.
FAILURE OF ROOF BARS
The roof bars may fail when loaded to the limit of their carrying capacity. Failure could result in loss of luggage.
Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the original roof bars replaced with quality assured examples.
POSSIBILITY OF UNDERBONNET FIRE
As a result of improper assembly of the starter motor magnetic switch an electrical short circuit may occur if electrically conductive liquid enters this area. This could result in burning of the wiring insulation and in extreme cases an underbonnet fire.
Affected vehicles are being recalled for replacement of the starter motor magnetic switch.

Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the engine wiring harness re-routed and secured clear of the bonnet hinge.

SEAT BELT PRE TENSIONERS MAY FAIL TO ACTIVATE
On some Punto vehicles it has been found that the seat belt pre-tensioners may fail to activate although normal activation of the seat belt is assured.
Recall affected vehicles to shorten the safety tabs in the inertia reel.
BALL JOINT TO TRACK ROD CONNECTION MAY BECOME LOOSE
The double thread connection balljoint to the track rod can become loose caused by insufficient torquing in production.
Recall affected vehicles and undo and retighten the clamp bolt with 170 Nm plus or minus 10 Nm torque. In cases where the threaded connection is loose already renew the track rod and reset the toe-in.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF GRAB RAIL
The fixing bracket portion of the Pillion Passenger Grab Handle may not have enough strength and if excessive force is applied to this area such as using the Grab Handle to lift or drag the motorcycle the Grab Handle could break or partially fail at this point. This in turn could lead to the complete failure of the Grab Handle during sudden hard braking with a pillion passenger.
Recall affected machines and fit a modified grab handle.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF GRAB RAIL
The fixing bracket portion of the Pillion Passenger Grab Handle may not have enough strength and if excessive force is applied to this area such as using the Grab Handle to lift or drag the motorcycle the Grab Handle could break or partially fail at this point. This in turn could lead to the complete failure of the Grab Handle during sudden hard braking with a pillion passenger.
Recall affected machines and fit a modified grab handle.
LOSS OF BRAKE SERVO ASSISTANCE
Heat transmitted from the turbocharger may adversely affect the rubber membrane in the brake servo unit. This could result in loss of brake vacuum assistance and increase the pedal effort and stopping distance when the brakes are applied.
The affected vehicles are being recalled for replacement of the brake servo unit and the installation of a heat shield between the servo unit and the turbocharger.
