DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.

FRONT FORK STANCHIONS CONCERN.
In very rare circumstances the front stanchions may bend or fracture ( e.g. after impact from severe pothole or light front collision). This may cause impairment of suspension action or loss of steering control with consequent risk of accident.
Recall the affected motorcycles and fit modified front fork stanchions.
SECOND AXLE LOWER SPRING ARM CONCERN
In some cases fitment of nylon thrust washers may allow excessive lateral movement of the second axle suspension lower spring arms. This could loosen the fixing bolts at the spring eye bracket and affect the steering control.
Fit an extra support bracket at the spring eye bracket and new thrust washers.
THROTTLE CABLE CONCERN.
The throttle cable may have been damaged during vehicle manufacture. This could cause the cable to fray and prevent the engine speed returning to idle when the throttle pedal is released.
Check the throttle cable for damage and replace where necessary.
PARKING BRAKE EFFECTIVENESS CONCERN.
Under certain parking conditions the handbrake lever travel may operate inconsistantly. This could result in the handbrake failing to hold the vehicle effectively when parked on a slope.
Recall and examine the affected vehicles and modify the mechanism within the brake drums where necessary.
POSSIBLE UNSCHEDULED APPLICATION OF PARKING BRAKE
The steel ball in ports 1 and 2 of the air brake system interlock valve may come loose and cause the parking brake to self apply.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a modified interlock valve.
RISK OF FIRE
There is a possibility that a short circuit may occur in the cigar lighter bulb holder when the vehicle lighting system is operated.
Disconnect the illumination feed to the lighter and remove the bulb.
ENGINE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY CONCERN
The crankshaft pulley may become loose causing a rattling noise from the engine battery warning light to come on and a high steering effort will be noticed.
All recalled vehicles will have the crankshaft pulley bolt tightened to the correct specified torque.
ENGINE SPEED CONTROL CONCERNS
1) Accelerator pedal may stick in the open position. (Petrol and diesel engine models). 2) Engine may stall at idle or after hard acceleration. (Diesel engine models).
1) Reposition pad at base of accelerator. 2) Repalce the pressure regulator valve on the diesel fuel pump.
FUEL LEAK / EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSIST CONCERN.
Danger of leakage from the Diesel injection high pressure pipes which can result in destruction of the Emergency Brake Assist connector located on the Brake Booster.
Replace diesel fuel injection high pressure rail and pipes and Emergency Brake Assist connector seal at Brake Booster Unit.
ENGINE MAY CUT OUT
Laguna II's fitted with the 1.6 16v engine may cut out and stall at idle/lift off when the air conditioning is switched on.
Rectified by recalibrating the injection computer.
FLEXIBLE DRIVE COUPLING MAY WEAR EXCESSIVELY.
Rubber inserts not fitted. If machine continues to be used the flexible coupling may wear excessively.
Recall affected machines to replace couplings and fit inserts.
FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM MAY DETACH
There is a possibility that under extreme conditions the lower front suspension arm mounting bolts may become loose and the arm may detach.
Recall affected vehicles and replace front axle support with modified type and longer suspension lower arm bolts.
FRONT SUSPENSION OUTER BALL JOINT MAY BECOME DETACHED
Under extreme conditions of use the outer ball joint pins may become loose in the front suspension lower arms. Under extreme conditions detachment could occur.
Recall affected vehicles and fit modified lower arms.
POTENTIAL LOSS OF CLUTCH CONTROL.
The clutch slave cylinder may leak resulting in loss of hydraulic fluid and clutch control.
Replace clutch slave cylinder with a quality assured unit.

SEAT BELT ANCHORAGE CONCERN.
There is a risk that the lower attachment on the front and rear left hand seat belts could be loose.
Recall the affected vehicles to check and if necessary tighten the seat belt fixings.
FRONT AIR BAG(S) MAY NOT DEPLOY.
The driver and where fitted passenger air bags may not deploy correctly in an accident due to a fault in the electronic control unit (ECU).
Recall affected vehicles conduct a diagnostic check on the ECU and rectify or replace as appropriate.
SEAT BELT ANCHORAGE CONCERN.
There is a risk that the lower attachment on the front and rear left hand seat belts could be loose.
Recall the affected vehicles to check and if necessary tighten the seat belt fixings.
SERVICE BRAKE LINKAGE MAY BECOME DISCONNECTED.
A locking clip may not have been fitted correctly to one or more of the five clevis pins connecting the footbrake relay linkage inside the cabin. Disconnection of the linkage will result in the loss of service braking.
Recall affected vehicles to check that all five locking clips are secure.
PARKING BRAKE MAY SELF RELEASE
The parking brake may not be able to be securely set due to misalignment of the ratchet and pawl teeth. In the worst case the parking brake may self release.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a quality assured replacement parking brake assembly.
