REAR SIDE SEAT BELT OUTER BUCKLE MAY BREAK
The rear side seatbelt outer buckle may be of a material which has been incorrectly treated. The buckle may break in service. The seat belt would no longer offer a restraining facility
Recall affected vehicles and replace buckle with modified type
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
It is possible that due to improper welding of the levelling valve on the fuel tank fuel may leak from this area.
Fit a new improved fuel tank.
INCORRECT WIRING CONNECTIONS TO AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT
Transposed wiring connections to the side air bags control unit will result in deployment of the air bag on the opposite side of an impact.
Correct the wiring connections.
POSSIBLE SHORT CIRCUIT
Vehicles with the HDI engines but without the optional diesel fired heater may be fitted with the maxi-fuse supplying the fuel heater circuit. This can in certain cases lead to a short circuit and a consequential fire risk.
Remove the maxi-fuse.
FRONT BRAKE HOSE MAY BECOME TRAPPED
The front brake flexible hose may become damaged by being trapped between the fork bottom yoke and the steering lock peg when cornering. This could result in reduced brake efficiency.
Fit a hose retaining clip to the right hand fork leg above the bottom yoke.
WATER MAY ENTER COOLING FAN - RISK OF FIRE.
There is a possibility that water may collect within the casing of the cooling fan and in a limited number of cases an under-bonnet fire.
Fit a modified cooling fan assembly.
HOT ENGINE EXHAUST GASES MAY MELT PARK BRAKE HOSE
The circuit 3 air pipe connected to the air reservoir is fitted too close to the engine exhaust. The hot gasses could melt the pipe and cause an air leak and the park brake to malfunction.
Fit a new quick release coupling assembly to relocate the hose.
LEAK AT FUEL TANK VENT FITTING
The fuel tank may leak in the vicinity of the vent fixing.
Recalled machines will have the fuel tank replaced.
REAR BRAKES MAY LOCK UNDER LIGHT BRAKING
In cold damp conditions the rear brake linings may swell and under light braking effort lock the rear wheels. This can adversely affect the vehicle's handling.
Fit improved specification brake linings.
Steering wheel retaining bolt may loosen.
The steering wheel retaining bolt may not have been tightened to the specified torque. If ignored it can potentially lead to a loss of steering control.
Check the torque of the steering wheel retaining bolt and tighten where found necessary.
FRONT BRAKE HOSE CONNECTIONS MAY BE INCORRECTLY FITTED
Front brake hoses may have been incorrectly fitted. This could result in an air leak when the footbrake is applied.
Check brake hose connections for tightness and leaks. Rectify where necessary.
POSSIBLE FRACTURE OF CHASSIS AROUND TOW HOOK MOUNTING
Possible fracture of chassis around tow hook mounting.
Replace existing chassis reinforcements with new ones.
BREAKAGE OF EXTERNAL SUN VISOR
Due to faults in the shape and dimensions of the sun visor during production tensions can occur following fitting to the cab and can cause the visor to break.
Modify the sun visor mountings by using a new tension free mounting bracket.
POSSIBLE WATER INGRESS INTO CAB TILT RELAY BOX
Ingress of water into the cab tilt relay box may corrode the electrical connections and impair the effectiveness of the tilt locking system.
Move the relay box from the bottom flange of the chassis to the inside of the chassis frame.
UNINTENDED ACTIVATION OF SIDE WINDOW AIRBAGS
It is possible for the side window air bags to deploy unintentionally.
Replace the air bag central control unit.
PROPSHAFT MAY FAIL.
The propshaft may fail due to a production fault.
Check the production date on the propshaft and replace where found necessary.
STEERING COLUMN SHAFT MAY BE INCORRECT LENGTH
An incorrect length steering column shaft may have been fitted during manufacture.
Check the length of the column shaft and replace where necessary.
STICKING THROTTLE
Throttle may stick in the open position
Recall affected vehicles and replace throttle bodies with quality assured unit.
FRONT STEERING KNUCKLE MAY HAVE CRACKED
The front steering knuckle may be cracked in the area where it connects to the front tie rod ball joint. In a worst case failure directional control of the vehicle could be affected.
Examine potentially affected vehicles and fit new steering knuckles where found necessary.
POSSIBLE LEAK FROM GEARBOX OIL RADIATOR PIPES.
The gearbox oil radiator return and delivery pipes may leak due to an error in the manufacturing process. This could impair the operation and reliability of the gearbox.
Fit quality assured oil radiator return and delivery pipes.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
The gaiter and associated parts connecting the fuel filler neck to the tank may not conform to specification. This may cause a fuel leak which could contaminate the tyres and adversely affect the handling of the car.
Replace the fuel filler neck connecting system with parts that comply with the specification.
