CERTAIN BURNER TUBES MAY NOT BE MANUFACTURED TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATION

    Defect

The material composition of certain stainless steel burner tubes are not within the correct specification. This can cause the burner tubes to deteriorate at an accelerated rate and can possibly fail. In extreme cases this could cause a fire or allow exhaust fumes to enter the vehicle. To date there have been no incidents of property damage or personal injury.

    Remedy

Webasto has initiated a recall of all 11 potentially affected units and will replace all affected burner tubes.

BOLTS OF THE TANDEM FUEL PUMP COVER MAY BREAK

    Defect

It is advised that on some vehicles fitted with a 3 and 4 cylinder pump injector engine the bolts of the tandem fuel pump cover may break due to a bolt production fault. As a result the pump housing will not be tight and a diesel fuel leak may occur.

    Remedy

Recalled vehicles will have the pump checked for being of a certain manufacture. If found to be within the affected range the pump housing cover bolts will be replaced.

SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR ON THE ELECTRICAL DOOR OPENING

    Defect

Due to a possible manufacturing defect there is a risk that the internal wiring harness of the door handle may short circuit and trigger the electrical door opening switch of the door. This may result in the door opening without intervention although onboard software of the central locking does not allow this situation to occur over 6mph.

    Remedy

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the outside door handles.

TENSION CRACKS MAY OCCUR ON THE VACUUM PIPE TO THE SERVO

    Defect

Tension cracks may occur on the vacuum pipe to the brake servo in the area of the connections due to a manufacturing fault. Should a vacuum pipe leak the brake servo will loose it's function. This will result in an increase of force which must be applied to the brake pedal. But will not result in a total failure of the braking system.

    Remedy

Recalled vehicles will have the vacuum pipes checked and if necessary replaced.
