ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR
Some electrical plugs connected to the battery master switch may have been fitted with inadequate sealing to prevent water ingress to the electrical terminals. Water ingress in this area can lead to a total loss of vehicle electicals.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to water proof the affected terminals.
WHEEL MAY DETACH
There is a possibility that the front and or rear wheel hubs may crack which in the worst case could lead to wheel loss.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect and dependant on type change the wheel hubs.
CLUTCH MAY FAIL
There is a possibility that the clutch housing may crack which could in the worst case lead to the gearbox falling out of the chassis.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to change the clutch housing to a cast type. If cracked housing are found it may also be necessary to also fit a new flywheel housing.
WHEEL FLANGES MAY SPLIT
The wheel flanges may not be of sufficient strength and may split.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit modified wheels.
BRAKE FLUID MAY LEAK FROM BRAKE PIPE
Brake fluid may leak from either the right hand front or left hand front brake caliper bridge pipe
Recall affected vehicles and replace the caliper bridge pipe on all four calipers with a revised corrosion resistant part.
BRAKE FLUID MAY LEAK FROM BRAKE PIPE
Brake fluid may leak from either the right hand front or left hand front brake caliper bridge pipe
Recall affected vehicles and replace the caliper bridge pipe on all four calipers with a revised corrosion resistant pipe
POSSIBILITY OF A FUEL LEAK
It has been identified that some Sport City machines could display a problem with the fuel level sensor ring nut which may under certain conditions result in a fuel leak.
On machines which are likely to develop the problem the fuel tank will be changed.
TAG AXLE HUB MAY DISLODGE
It has been identified that due to a misalignment of the weld and poor root penetration of the weld fillet material the TAG axle hub may dislodge from the axle.
Affected vehicles will have the TAG axle replaced.
STEERING LOCK MAY INADVERTENTLY ENGAGE
The control cam of the steering lock may break. This is most likely to occur as the vehicle is started or parked. However the possibility of this occurring whilst the vehicle is in motion cannot be ruled out. In this event the steering lock could engage with the effect that it would no longer be possible to steer the vehicle.
Recall affected vehicles check manufacturer of lock and if necessary replace steering lock.
TAG AXLE HUB MAY DISLODGE
It has been identified that due to a misalignment of the weld and poor root penetration of the weld fillet material the TAG axle hub may dislodge from the axle.
Affected vehicles will have the TAG axle replaced.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF OFFSIDE REAR BRAKE CAMSHAFT
It has been identified that the possibility exists that the offside rear brake camshaft may be subject to failure caused by excessive force imparted due to the upgrading of the spring brake chamber. In the event of camshaft failure braking effort will be lost at the affected wheel station.
Recalled vehicles will have both rear spring brake actuators changed.
INCORRECT TORQUE SETTING COULD RESULT IN WHEEL RIM STUD BREAKAGE
It is possible that the front and or rear wheel rim nuts were not correctly tightened at the factory which could result in loosening of the nuts and continued riding in this situation could result in wheel rim stud damage.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary tighten the nuts to specification.
BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY REDUCE
If the battery voltage is abnormally low the antilock braking system electronic control unit may not perform to specification which in rare cases may cause a reduction in braking efficiency.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the Electronic Control Unit.
LAMP BRACKET MAY BECOME DETACHED
On some eligible units the signal lamp bracket may crack due to vibration and rough riding conditions. If this condition is not corrected the bracket with the attached license plate could become detached from the motorcycle creating a road hazard.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the signal lamp bracket.
ENGINE MAY CUT OUT AND OR FAIL TO RESTART
It has been identified that the wireless control module may fail with the result that the engine may fail to start or cut out.
Recalled vehicles will have the wireless control module replaced.
FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY INCORRECTLY
It has been identified that the front passenger air bag may deploy with too much force when certain rear facing child seats are installed.
Recalled vehicles will have the front passenger cushions replaced and the occupant restraint system re-programmed.
ENGINE MAY OVERHEAT
The cooling fan blades may fracture and separate from the fan which will in certain circumstances allow the engine to overheat.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the fan assembly.
CONCERN THAT SEATBELT WILL NOT SECURE CHILDSEAT
It has been identified that the front passenger seat belts may not tighten on certain models of child seat.
Recalled vehicles will have the front passenger seat belts replaced.
VEHICLE MAY STALL
The clutch pedal push rod may break causing the clutch function to be lost.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the clutch pedal push rod plastic spacer foam seal and interlock switch cover.
EXHAUST EMISSIONS MAY BE INCORRECT
It has been identified that a number of vehicles may have a faulty absolute emissions sensor.
Recalled vehicles will have the manifold absolute pressure sensor replaced.
FUEL MAY LEAK
It has been identified that the possibility exists that a fuel line may not have been fitted correctly and may leak.
Recalled vehicles will be checked for the presence of fuel leaks if evident the fuel line and fittings will be replaced.
ENGINE MAY OVERHEAT
The cooling fan blades may fracture and separate from the fan which will in certain circumstances allow the engine to overheat.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the fan assembly.
FUEL MAY LEAK
It has been identified that the possibility exists that a fuel line may not have been fitted correctly and may leak.
Recalled vehicles will be checked for the presence of fuel leaks if evident the fuel line and fittings will be replaced.
DIRECTION INDICATORS MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY
It has been identified that the direction indicators may not function correctly.
Recalled vehicles will have the indicator power module reprogrammed.
