    Nv400 X62 AdBlue Dosing Inactive

    Defect

For affected vehicles the AdBlue Dosing Module may not have been initialised during the production process. In this condition the AdBlue Dosing Module does not trigger AdBlue injection and therefore NOx emissions are not controlled.

    Remedy

The AdBlue dosing control module (ADCM) activation status will be checked. If it is not active the AdBlue Injector will be replaced and the AdBlue Dosing Control Module activated.

MDEG/HDEP Euro VI standard NOx sensor monitoring inoperative

    Defect

The EU directive for commercial vehicles with the Euro 6 emissions standard stipulates that the NOx sensor signal is regularly checked for plausibility. The IUPR monitor (In Use Performance Ratio) was defined for this purpose. At a minimum 50% of vehicles in a class must have this monitor be active at least 10% of the possible time. This is not the case for the affected vehicles. Cause Parameter error in data record creation.

    Remedy

To remedy this an update software version in engine management (MCM) and exhaust gas aftertreatment (ACM) control units is required.

Defender Third Row Lower Seat Belt Anchorage Bracket

    Defect

On affected vehicles a concern has been identified where the third-row lower seat belt anchorage bracket may contain a weld stud of insufficient ISO strength due to material contamination at the supplier. An insufficiently strong weld stud in this position could result in the safety restraint system not functioning correctly in the event of a crash increasing the risk of occupant injury.

    Remedy

Vehicles will have the third-row lower seat belt anchorage bracket replaced.

    Passenger airbag inflator

    Defect

In the event that the airbag is activated excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator body to rupture and metal fragments may pass through the cushion material causing injury to the vehicle occupants and / or in worst cases a fatality. The concern is caused by moisture in the air getting past faulty seals and being absorbed by the pyrotechnic biscuits in the inflator. As a result it is more likely to occur sooner in areas of high humidity and high temperature difference.

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the passenger front air bag module which includes the inflator.
