DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.

LIGHTS MAY FAIL WITHOUT WARNING
It has been identified that the position of the exterior lighting control ring may not be detected by the lighting management system and the lights may switch off without warning.
Recalled vehicles will have the lighting management software updated.

FRONT FORKS MAY BREAK
There is a risk of the forks failing and the rider loosing control of the machine.
The recalled machines will have the aluminium forks replaced with ones made of steel.
OIL MAY LEAK
Oil may leak from the bottom of the engine oil filler neck. If not rectified this could lead to oil leaking onto the road surface and/or engine damage due to insufficient lubrication.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the engine oil filler neck.
FRONT SUSPENSION ARM MAY SEPERATE
The upper control arm ball joints fitted to the nearside and/or offside front suspension may experience a loss of lubricant which can lead to corrosion accelerated wear and separation whilst driving. If the ball joint separates directional control will be lost.
The recalled vehicles will have new front suspension upper control arms fitted the front suspension.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL MAY FAIL TO RETURN TO IDLE
The accelerator pedal may stick thereby causing the vehicle to react differently than the driver would anticipate.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary replace the throttle pedal and reprogramme the ECU.

THE WRONG AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY IN A COLLISION
In the case of a side impact the wrong airbag could deploy as a result of a software non-compliance.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to apply a software update.

FUEL MAY LEAK
It is possible on some fuel tanks that the vent pipe is not to specification. This can lead to a small leak into the charcoal canister and if not rectified can over a period of time result in a fuel leak.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the fuel tank.

Recall the affected vehicles and replace the fuel tank.
SEAT BELT MAY NOT PERFORM CORRECTLY
The seat belt positioning may be incorrect due to the front seat brackets not being to specification. This could affect the seat security and seat belt performance if an accident occurs.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary fit new seat assemblies.
STEERING MAY BE AFFECTED
Ingress of dirt into the steering shaft sliding joint will cause the splines to wear prematurely. As the joint wears play at the steering will become apparent and over time the play will increase leading to some pulsing when the steering wheel is turned and the vehicle wandering. If all these warning signs are ignored and the vehicle is still used there will be increased difficulty in maintaining steering control.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the steering shaft with a modified type.
POTENTIAL OF PEDESTRIAN INJURY
It is possible due to a build up of corrosion that the Flying B mascot may not retract correctly when struck. If the vehicle is involved in a collison with a pedestrian and the mascot does not retract correctly the pedestrian may suffer addiional injuries.
Recall the affected vehicles for the mascot mechanism to be replaced with a later version.
HANDLEBAR MAY FAIL
It has been identified that the Yamaha Accessory Double-T Fat handle bars may not be manufactured from the correct specification material and in extreme circumstances when high forces are placed on it can fail which could result in loss of control of the machine.
Recall affected machines and replace the handlebar with quality assured components.

GEARBOX MAY NOT PERFORM CORRECTLY
The bracket that secures the automatic transmission shift cable to the transmission casing may crack and break. This is as a result of unnecessary welding. Should the bracket fail then gear selection witl be extremely difficult or in extreme cases impossible.
Recall all affected vehicles and check the bracket. If the bracket has been welded then replacement of the bracket is required.
FUEL MAY LEAK
The fuel tank mounting bolts may have been incorrectly torqued this may cause the mountings to become loose which can lead to stress on the fuel pipes and subsequently a fuel leak.
Recall the affected vehicles to check and if necessary retorque of the mounting bolts.
MACHINE MAY NOT RETURN TO IDLE
The flame trap mesh fitted inside the air cleaner/filter box can become detached. It is possible that the mesh may enter the throttle body housing and jam the throttle valve. This may prevent the throttle from fully returning to its idle position.
Recall the affected machines and replace the flame trap mesh with a modified version.
ENGINE MAY OVERHEAT
It is possible that the hose connection between the coolant expansion tank and the bleed hose can work loose. If this should occur then coolant will leak and air will enter the system. Under these conditions the low coolant level warning light will not function. If the vehicle is driven in this condition it will cause engine damage and in the extreme possible failure.
Recall the affected vehicle to replace the tank and bleeder hose.
