    Defect

    It has been determined that due to a parameter error of the VRDU3 in the event of a fault in the SideGuardAssist assistance system (for example in the form of a sensor fault) the driver is not notified of the assistance system fault as prescribed by UN ECE R 151. As the driver is not informed of the failure of the assistance function the protection of particularly vulnerable road users may be impaired.

    Remedy

    Remedy is by way of a Software update.
