    Driver airbag inflator

    Defect

The driver airbag inflator housing may rupture during normal airbag deployment events and metal fragments could injure components. This is more likely to occur if the vehicle has been exposed to high levels of absolute humidity for extended periods of time.

    Remedy

On affected vehicles replace the driver's air bag inflator.

    BRAKE FAILURE COULD OCCUR

    Defect

Right hand rear brake actuator may contact axle casing when brake pads wear and calliper/actuator assembly move inboard. Actuator band clamp bolt may fracture resulting in separating of actuator service portion from main actuator body. If the concern occurs the stopping distance for the vehicle will increase.

    Remedy

    FIRE MAY OCCUR

    Defect

The controller circuit for the Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Heater fitted to affected vehicles may short circuit. This normally results in flat battery but may also cause non starting Additionally the short circuit may cause a distinct smell from hot and/or melted components which in extreme circumstances may develop in to a fire. All of these symptoms can occur when the vehicle is in use or parked and unattended.

    Remedy

On affected vehicles replace PTC with latest design version.
