REAR WHEEL BEARING HOUSINGS MAY FAIL
It is possible the tempering process for the rear wheel bearing housing was not correct. This could allow the housing to crack and fail
On affected vehicles replace the bearing housing with a correctly manufactured version.
DEVIATION IN ENGINE CONTROL UNIT SOFTWARE
The engine control unit may not have the correct software. This may affect power and emissions outputs.
On affected vehicles update the control unit with the correct software.
REAR HUB CARRIERS NOT MANUFACTURED TO CORRECT STANDARD
The hardening process for the rear wheel bearing housings may not have been correctly performed. In the worst case this could lead to a fractured housing. Should a fractured housing occur there would be abnormal noises bad tyre wear and a theoretical possibility of wheel loss.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the right and left rear wheel bearing housings.
REAR WHEEL BEARING HOUSINGS MAY BE INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED AND COULD FAIL PREMATURELY
The hardening process for the rear wheel bearing housings may not have been correctly performed. In the worst case this could lead to a fractured housing. Should a fractured housing occur there would be abnormal noises bad tyre wear and a theoretical possibility of wheel loss.
Recall the 420 vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the right and left rear wheel bearing housings.
A NON-CONFORMITY IN AN INTERNAL COMPONENT COULD AFFECT DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG
An internal component of the passenger's airbag triggering module may not conform to specification. This could affect the triggering of the device in the event of an impact.
On affected vehicles replace the passenger's air bag assembly
A NON-CONFORMITY IN AN INTERNAL COMPONENT COULD AFFECT DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG
An internal component of the passenger's airbag triggering module may not conform to specification. This could affect the triggering of the device in the event of an impact.
On affected vehicles replace the passenger's air bag assembly
DRIVER AND/OR FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY AS INTENDED
An incorrect specification driver or front passenger air bag assembly may have been installed during production. As a result the airbag(s) may not deploy as intended.
On affected vehicles replace the air bag with the correct module.
VEHICLE CAN BE DRIVEN WITHOUT THE DRIVER KNOWING THE MIDDLE DOOR IS OPEN
It has been identified that in certain cases the driver is able to manoeuvre the vehicle with the middle door open without a visual or audible warning. Risk of the vehicle being driven with the middle door open.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and apply software updates to the Instrument Cluster and Body Builder Module to warn the driver when the middle door is open. At speeds below 5 km/h the Any door open icon and CHECK lamp are illuminated and at speeds above 5 km/h the Any door open icon STOP lamp and audible buzzer are activated.
THE TIE ROD INSTALLATION BRACKET MAY BREAK
The holes in the rear shock absorber tie-rod frame mounts can become elongated if the rear shock absorber bottoms out. This could cause the tie rod installation bracket to break.
Inspect the frame for damage and fit additional bracing brackets to the frame. In rare cases the frame may need to be replaced.

ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM PARAMETERS MAY BE INCORRECT
The High Load parameter setting of the Electronic Braking System may not have been correctly programmed. In extreme instances this may affect EBS brake application and vehicle stability.
On affected vehicles reprogram the EBS High Load parameters.
RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHORT
On affected machines there is a risk of one of the link leads to the regulator rectifier developing an electrical short. A bracket introduced at the start of production may interfere with the link lead resulting in damage to the outer protective sheathing and over time potentially exposing the wire. Contact between the bracket and the exposed wire may lead to an electrical short. In some cases the electrical short may cause an engine stall without warning.
The original Link Lead will be removed and replaced with a new identical part which will be routed so as to avoid possible contact with the bracket edge.
BRAKE HOSE INCORRECTLY CRIMPED
A brake hose crimp connection could come loose and cause a reduction in braking effort.
On affected vehicles replace the brake hose with a correctly crimped version.

SUSPENSION AND STEERING FIXINGS MAY NOT BE TIGHTENED TO THE CORRECT TORQUE
Due to a deviation in the production process certain suspension and steering fixings may not have been tightened to the correct torque.
On affected vehicles check fixings as indicated by the manufacturer. Replace any damaged fixings and tighten all relevant fixings to correct torque.

HEADLIGHT MAY NOT PERFORM AS EXPECTED
Indian Motorcycle has determined that some motorcycles equipped with halogen headlights may have been assembled using a non-compliant headlight not matching destination market requirements. Certain International models may be equipped with an SAE (North America spec) headlight which is considered non-compliant per ECE standards. The E4 and SAE headlights have different photometric and marking requirements which must be inspected and if necessary replaced with the correct headlight. These headlights have the potential to dazzle other road users if the light is not dipped to the correct side for the market operated in.
Headlamp assembly to be inspected on affected models and where necessary the headlamp will be replaced.
