EGR FLANGE COULD CORRODE AND CRACK
The urea water injector mounting flange on the exhaust front pipe may fail and allow the urea water injector to separate from the front pipe. This situation could result in noncompliance with requirements prescribed in applicable safety or emission regulations in the involved countries.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace front exhaust pipe.
FRETTING BETWEEN ABS AND SECONDARY BRAKE MAY CAUSE LOSS OF BRAKING SYSTEM
There is a possibility of interference and fretting between the ABS brake pipes and the secondary air system connection which over a period of time could in the most extreme cases lead to loss of braking capability.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and check the fitment of the ABS brake pipes in relation to the secondary air system connection. Where necessary fit the modified mount.
WINDSCREEN MAY NOT BE CORRECTLY FITTED
Due to an in the fitting process replacement screens may not have been correctly fitted. Drivers may notice water ingress and/or wind noise
On affected vehicles remove and correctly refit windscreen.

STEERING WHEEL MAY COME LOOSE
The screw securing the steering wheel to the splines may be missing. This can lead to loss of directional control thereby increasing the risk of a collision.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check for the presence of the retaining screw where necessary a screw will be fitted.
VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEM MAY INCORRECTLY DIAGNOSE AN IMMINENT CRASH
In unusual situations the Active Electronic Braking System (AEBS) can misinterpret freeze frame data and cause the brakes to fully apply when not required. The driver does have time to cancel the braking activity. Brake lamps and warning flashers alert drivers behind. If the truck driver or the driver following are not alert there is an increased risk of collision.
Vehicle Owners are to be contacted informing them of the concern and asking them to observe the notes in the Owners Manual regarding potentially initiated random braking procedures. When the new update to the sensor system has been validated the vehicles will be recalled for the Control Units to be updated.

3RD SEAT ROW SEATS AND 2ND SEAT ROW SHOULDER BELTS MAY BE INSECURE
3rd row seat retaining bolts and 2nd row seat belt shoulder anchor retaining bolts may not be tightened to the correct specification
Re-tighten the 2nd rear seat shoulder belt bolts the 3rd row seat bolts and the 3rd row seat shoulder belt buckle bolts to the correct specification .
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTOR DEFECTIVE
Contacts inside the electric power steering motor may not have been correctly formed. Failure of these contacts would cause the loss of power steering assistance. If this happens a warning lamp will illuminate
Replace the electric power steering motor on affected vehicles.
PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY
Due to a firmware error the vehicle's restraint control module will not recognise the passenger seat is occupied. In the event of an accident the passenger airbag will not deploy
On affected vehicles the updated software will be downloaded to the vehicle. However the installation of the software will immobilise the vehicle and the vehicle keepr should install when the vehicle is suitably parked up. .

Replace the electric power steering motor on affected vehicles.
HEADLIGHTS MAY PRODUCE EXCESSIVE GLARE
Due to an error in the manufacturing process the headlamp lens may not conform to specification.
On affected vehicles replace high and low beam headlight assemblies
BATTERY LINE HAS NOT BEEN ROUTED CORRECTLY
The battery supply line for the engine electrical system may be incorrectly routed and could result in a short circuit. This will produce a thermal overload of the battery line and melting of the protective sheath may occur. There is also a possibility that all electrics could be lost the engine could stop and fire could start.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and if necessary correct the routing of the battery supply line for the engine electrical system.
BUMPER TRIM BONDING MAY NOT BE TO SPECIFICATION
On the affected vehicles the bonding of the front bumper trim may not conform to specification. Over time the bonding may allow the trim to detach
Check the bonding of the front bumper lower trim and rectify or replace it if necessary
STEERING COLUMN MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SECURED
Securing nuts at one of the upper steering column attachments may be issing or loose. Also the universal joint cross screw joint in the upper steering column must be checked
Check nuts are fitted and tightened to the correct tightening torque. Also check the vertical steering column is fitted correctly in the upper steering column universal joint cross rectifying where necessary.

AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY
The subject vehicles are equipped with right front seat side airbags which may not deploy in a collision as intended.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the right front seat side airbags.

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the right front seat side airbags.
FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG MAYNOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY
It is possible a recess on the inside of the instrument panel was not machined correctly. The recess is the predetermined break point of the instrument panel when the front passenger airbag is activated. If the milling has not been carried out correctly the proper deployment of the front passenger airbag cannot be ensured.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the milling of the predetermined break point. Where necessary the instrument panel will be replaced.
HEATED WASHER JETS MAY OVERHEAT
The heated washer jets fitted to some Kuga vehicles may have jet heating elements that are not correctly sealed. There is a possibility that poor sealing could lead to corrosion due to water ingress and subsequent overheating of the jets. An overheating jet element will damage the nozzle housing and may cause local heat/fire damage to the cowl grille accompanied by smoke and burning smell.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and fit new washer jets.
VEHICLE MAY ROLL BACKWARDS
When trying to drive off uphill from a standstill the vehicle may roll backwards. This is because of a software problem in the CMU.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and download countermeasure software to the CMU.
NO OCCUPANCY DETECTION MAT FITTED IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT
The nearside front passenger detection mat was not fitted during production of the seat. No alarm or warning lamp will warn the driver if the front passenger has not fastened the seatbelt.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and fit an occupancy detection mat to the front passenger seat.
MOUNTING POINTS FOR SEAT RUNNER MAY FAIL
One or more of the mounting points between the runner and the drivers seat may fail.
On affected vehicles inspect the drivers seat frame to determine if seat lifter links are damaged. If no damage is evident fit reinforcement brackets and push nuts. If damage is present to the seat lifter link replace seat frame. If damage is restricted to stabilizer bar then the bar will be repaired plus brackets and push nuts fitted.
