Power cable chafing
On affected vehicles power cables may chafe on the edge of an encapsulation plate due to edge protecting material might not have been correctly installed resulting in a potential risk of a short circuit and a consequential risk of a thermal event.
Check and adjust cable routing as necessary add rubber protection moulding as required.
DHU Update
A software error has been identified in relation to the display. In rare cases this could cause the screen to enter a “test mode” during vehicle start-up which will prevent key information including the vehicle speed from being displayed.
The solution is updated software available via OTA (over the air) or at a Volvo retailer.

Fuse install to prevent unexpected stop
Short circuit on low voltage side has in other cases caused instant stop on the road without ability to driver vehicle safely to the side of the road.
In order to ensure short circuits ability to drive vehicle to the side of the road in case of a300A fuse is to be installed on the low voltage side to ensure power supply to control units is maintained in case DC/DC converter fails.
Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS) software update
The Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS) unit could without influence from the driver apply torque to the steering shaft causing a sudden change of trajectory or vehicle instability during driving. Update Software for VDS System
Updated software to be installed
Seat and Seat Belt Torque
The screw joints for the seats and seat-belts may not have been torqued to the correct specification which means in the event of an impact insufficient protection will be available.
The solution is to check and adjust the torque.

Due to a software error the left rear indicator may stop working. Should this happen it will be an intermittent issue and a message will be shown in the driver display. By turning the indictor off and back on again the indicator should return to full functionality: if the warning message is no longer displayed the indicator has full functionality.

Due to an error in our engine software if there is a key-off / key-on signal during operation (i.e. driver turning the key during driving) engine will stop and remain stopped. The original software design is that the engine will not stop if there is a key-off and the vehicle speed is above 10 Km/h. The consequences when the engine stops is there is no steering support.
