On the affected vehicles the bonding must be checked. Depending on the test result the roof window is then modified or if necessary replaced.
THE CLIPS FOR ATTACHMENT OF THE CURTAIN AIRBAGS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CORRECTLY SET
The clips for attachment of the curtain airbags may not have been correctly set.
Check to ensure the curtain airbag fasteners are correctly fitted. Cable routing is also checked and if necessary corrected.
DUE TO A POSSIBLE FAULTY BONDING THE ROOF WINDOW COVER MAY COMPLETELY COME LOOSE
Due to a possible faulty bonding the roof window cover may completely come loose.
Check the bonding and modify or replace the roof window as necessary.
THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM EVAPORATOR HOUSING DRAINPIPE MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED
The drainpipe of the evaporator housing of the air conditioning system may have been incorrectly manufactured leading to water accumulating and dripping onto the airbag control unit.
Check the drainpipe of the evaporator housing. If found to be incorrectly manufactured the drainpipe must be modified and the airbag control unit replaced.
SPORADIC MALFUNCTIONS IN A PRESSURE CASTING SYSTEM CAUSED INDIVIDUAL REAR WHEEL BEARING HOUSINGS TO BE FITTED WITH OXIDE INCLUSIONS
On Tiguan LWB vehicles of a limited production period sporadic malfunctions in a pressure casting system caused individual rear wheel bearing housings to be fitted with oxide inclusions.
On the affected vehicles the production date of the two rear wheel bearing housings is checked and if necessary replaced.
