Takata front drivers or passenger airbag replacement
Urgent Safety Warning – Do Not Drive Your Vehicle Our information shows your vehicle was originally allocated to or used for an extended period of time in a region with a climate zone considered to as HIGH RISK. Issue: The front airbag in your VW vehicle contains an ageing inflator propellant that may explode when deployed due to long-term exposure to heat and humidity. Risk: If the airbag inflator explodes metal fragments may be ejected causing life-threatening or fatal injuries to anyone in the vehicle.
The front airbag must be replaced. Immediate Action Required: Stop driving your vehicle immediately. Contact the Takata Stop Drive helpline at 0113 526 9646 (MONDAY to FRIDAY 9:00AM to 5:00PM to arrange your recall service.
Checking front seat backrest frame/301
On affected vehicles there is a possibility a faulty part was fitted in the backrest frame of the front seats.
Check the seat back rest and replace if necessary.

On Golf vehicles of a limited production period belt systems were fitted to front passenger seat that may not have been correctly attached to the anchoring point near the lower B pillar.
The anchoring point of the belt system on the front passenger seat is inspected and dependant on results seat belt may need replacing.

On Tiguan Allspace vehicles of a limited production period there is a possibility that one or several faulty curtain airbags may have been fitted in the vehicle.
On the affected vehicles the left and/or right curtain airbag must be replaced.

On affected vehicles the curtain airbags at the height of the C-pillar (2nd seat row) may not have been correctly fitted.
Check the curtain airbags for correct installation and reposition if necessary.
Passenger Airbag
On affected vehicles there is a possibility in the event of a crash the front passenger airbag may not open as intended because of a fault in the dash panel.
Visually check the vehicle dash panel and change the airbag if necessary.
Lever for seat height adjustment
Volkswagen AG has established that on VW Tiguan vehicles of a limited production period there is the possibility that because of a faulty protective felt in the event of a front crash a tear in the seat belt on the front seats could occur. In the event of an accident the seat belt could get caught in the side lever for seat height adjustment. The faulty protective felt on the lever for the seat height adjustment can cause the seat belt to tear in the event of a front crash. A torn seat belt increases the risk of severe or deadly injuries in the event of accidents.
For safety reasons the replacement of the faulty protective felt on the lever to the seat height adjustment of your vehicle is necessary. Until the check do not use your vehicle with the front seats in a seat position that is far back and low down. Otherwise there is a risk that the seat belt could tear in the event of a front crash and the risk of severe or deadly injuries is increased.
Brake line botled connection
On affected vehicles the rear right brake line may have been tightened incorrectly leading to loss of brake fluid adversely affecting braking performance.
Replace the brake line.
Front seat belt
On affected vehicles there is a possibility the seat belt for the driver seat was incorrectly anchored.
Check the seat belt fixing and reinstall correctly if needed.
Natural gas system leak test
On Crafter “Grand California” vehicles of a limited production period there is a possibility that the leak test of the natural gas system was not correctly carried out. Leaks from the natural gas system cannot be ruled out.
On all affected vehicles a leak test of the natural gas system must be performed and if unsuccessful necessary repairs completed. After the repair the leak test of the natural gas system must be carried out again.
ID.Buzz Cargo Shelf system strength Properties
On affected vehicles the cargo shelf in the luggage compartment may become loose and penetrate into the passenger compartment presenting a risk of injury.
Remove the old rack with a new one to be built by the shelf system manufacturer.
Track rod ball joint and wishbone bolted connection
On certain vehicles there is a possibility that on one side of the front axle the bolted connection of the track rod ball joint and the wishbone were incorrectly carried out.
The bolted connection of the track rod ball joint on the wheel bearing housing and the wishbone on the swivel joint will be checked and if necessary the nuts are replaced.
Brake line bolted connection
On Caddy vehicles of a limited production period a fault when tightening the rear left brake line can cause leaks from the brake hose connection. A leak can lead to a gradual loss of brake fluid. The resulting too low brake fluid level is shown with the illumination of a warning lamp or display in instrument cluster. The loss of brake fluid level can adversely affect the braking performance.
The affected rear left brake line bolted connection at the connection to the brake hose must be checked and modified.

On affected vehicles a fault when tightening the rear left brake line can cause leaks from the brake hose connection leading to a gradual loss of brake fluid.
Check and secure the affected connection. Replace affected parts if leaking.
Takata front passenger airbag
On affected vehicles with passenger airbags from the manufacturer Takata in the event of an accident with airbag activation the passenger airbag gas generator housing may burst and produce fragments.

Backrest bolted connection
On VW ID.4 and ID.7 vehicles of a limited production period the bolted connection of the front seats between backrest and seat pan may be incorrect. The restraint effect of the seat may be insufficient in the event of an accident. There is therefore an increased risk for occupants.
On affected vehicles the bolts on both front seat backrests must be replaced.
