BRAKE VACUUM SUPPLY PIPE CONCERN
On Polo and Lupo vehicles in the affected chassis number range tension cracks may occur on the vacuum pipe to the brake servo in the area of the connections of the pipes because of a manufacturing fault. If a vacuum pipe leaks the brake servo loses its function. Without the servo assistance a lot more force must be used on the pedal. But this will not lead to a total failure of the brake system.
The fitted vacuum pipes will be checked and if necessary replaced.

WINDSCREEN WIPER MOTOR MAY FAIL
The windscreen wiper motor may cease to work because of an electrical software fault.
Replace the windscreen wiper motor of all affected vehicles.
ANTI LOCK BRAKE CONTROL UNIT CONCERN
There is a risk that an electrical fault in the anti lock brake control unit (ABS) can cause overheating of related electrical components. This may lead to fire damage and cause the service brake to revert to a non-anti lock mode of operation.
Recall affected vehicles to check the part number and supplier code of the ABS control unit. Renew the ABS control unit where found necessary.

RISK OF FAILURE OF REAR AXLE TRANSVERSE LINK.
Moisture can enter the rear axle ball joints this moisture can start corrosion of the joints ultimately causing the joints to seize.
Recall affected vehicles for replacement of ball joints and transverse links.

Recall affected vehicles for replacement of ball joints and transverse links.
PASSENGER AIRBAG CONCERN
The passenger airbag may not release correctly because of a leak in the pressure reservoir of the gas generator.
Recall affected vehicles and replace the front passenger airbag.
PASSENGER AIRBAG CONCERN
The passenger airbag may not release correctly because of a leak in the pressure reservoir of the gas generator.
Recall affected vehicles and replace the front passenger airbag.
CHILD SEAT SECURITY CONCERN
Welding faults on the seams of the ISOFIX mounting bars may occur. The safe support of ISOFIX child seats can therefore not be guaranteed in a crash.
Recall vehicles in order to re-weld the ISOFIX mounting bars.
TOW BAR BALL END MAY LOOSEN
Advised by manufacturer for vehicles with PEKA tow bar the description of the ball end installation in the instruction manual is unclear. In isolated cases the ball end can loosen because of a wrong installation.
A new instruction manual will be sent to owners of affected vehicles.
1) AIR MASS METER GRID MAY DETACH AND JAM THROTTLE OPEN & FUEL PIPES & 2) METAL BRAKE PIPES MAY CHAFE ON REAR SUBFRAME
1) In isolated cases misfiring after a cold start can cause the air grid in the air mass meter to become detached. In the worse case this could jam the throttle valve causing an increase in engine speed. Fuel pipes may chafe together and/or on fuel filter. 2) Metal brake pipe may be incorrectly positioned and chafe on rear subframe.
Recall affected vehicles and:- 1) Check air mass meter and air grid and install retaining ring in air mass meter. Examine fuel pipes for chafing damage and renew or reposition and secure as appropriate. 2) Examine brake pipe for chafing damage and renew or reposition and secure brake pipe as appropriate.
THE DRIVERS AIR BAG COULD HAVE BEEN UNINTENTIONALLY DEACTIVATED
On certain vehicles were the owner had requested to have the passengers air bag deactivated it is possible that during the deactivation process the drivers air bag could have been deactivated instead of the passengers.
Interrogate the air bag control unit and reconnect the wiring to the drivers air bag
MALFUNCTION OF AIR BAG
The wiring to the air bag control unit can chafe on the brake/clutch lever. This may lead to malfunction of the air bag unit.
Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the air bag wiring re-routed and fixed to the bulkhead. Any wiring found to be damaged will be replaced or repaired.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF HEADLAMPS
The wiring harness can cause the headlamp switch to overheat with consequent failure of the headlamps.
Recall the affected vehicles for modification to the light switch cable and replacement of the headlamp switch.

Recall the affected vehicles for modification to the light switch cable and replacement of the headlamp switch.
FREEZING OF DOOR LOCKS
Rainwater may accumulate in the front door latch mechanism and whilst in a frozen condition may inhibit correct operation of the latches.
Recall the affected vehicles and protect/lubricate the front door latch mechanisms with a special water repellent grease
LOSS OF TYRE PRESSURE
The valve hole in the steel road wheel is 0.5mm out of its correct position. This results in a poor valve fit and loss of tyre air pressure.
The affected vehicles are being recalled to have the original wheels replaced with quality assured examples.
POSSIBILITY OF COOLANT LEAKAGE INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
Operation of the vehicle for prolonged periods with the cooling system at very high temperatures can result in cooling system damage which in rare instances may cause rupturing of the heat exchanger In consequence high temperature coolant may enter the
Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of a bypass valve to the heat exchanger inlet and a non-return valve to the system. At the same time the heat exchanger box will be lined with absorbent foam.
INSECURITY OF FAN BLADE
The pulley on the engine cooling fan may loosen causing the fan motor to seize leading to a possible electrical overload with fire risk.
Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of a modified cooling fan and pulley.
