GEARSHIFT CONTROL CABLE CONCERN
On some vehicles there is a possibility that the inner cable of the gearshift control cable may have been deformed through improper installation on the production line. In use the deformed cable may break due to over-stressing. This would result in the drivers' inability to select the gears.
Recall affected vehicles and replace any damaged gearshift control cables.
GEARBOX SELECTOR YOKE CONCERN
The bolt securing the gear selector yoke to the gear selector shaft may loosen and fall out. This will allow the gear selector yoke to become detached from the selector shaft. In this event it will not be possible to select gear.
Fit a higher tensile bolt to the gear selector yoke and tighten it to a higher torque specification.
POSSIBLE INSECURITY OF REAR AXLE
The rear axle housing bolts may not have been tightened securely. This will cause the axle to become loose and the drive chain to slacken after a short period of use.
Recall affected machines check and adjust drive chain tension and tighten the four rear axle housing bolts to the specified torque.
CHAFING ELECTRICAL WIRING CONCERN
The crankshaft position sensor lead may be abraded by the offside drive shaft. Prolonged contact could result in the shaft severing the wire. In this instance the engine would stall.
Recall vehicles and fit an additional clip to the wiring harness to hold the harness away from the drive shaft.
POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
The fuel tank can split close to the filler neck. This will allow fuel to be spilled onto the rear wheel. This could cause a loss of traction and may cause the rider to fall off.
Recall affected machines and fit a modified quality assured fuel tank.
POSSIBLE SLACKENING OF THE STEERING RACK AND INBOARD ENGINE MOUNTING FASTENERS
Fasteners on the steering rack and the inboard engine mounting may not have been tightened correctly. In the event that any fasteners come completely undone while the car is being driven the driver could lose control of the vehicle.
Recall affected vehicles check the fasteners for correct torque and tighten where necessary.
HANDBRAKE MAY SELF RELEASE
The handbrake lever pawl may not rotate freely. When the handbrake is applied the pawl may not engage the ratchet and the handbrake can slip off.
Recall affected vehicles and fit a quality assured replacement handbrake assembly where necessary.
SECURITY OF STEERING RACK REAR SUSPENSION AND ENGINE MOUNTING FASTENERS
Fasteners on the steering rack rear suspension and near-side engine mounting may not have been tightened to the correct torque. It is possible that these components may become detached during use.
Recall the affected vehicles and tighten fasteners to correct torque where necessary.
REAR WHEEL MAY LOCK UP
The replacement cam chain tensioner used in the last recall has not been providing consistent tension adjustment to the cam chain. This can cause abnormal engine noises and could lead to the failure of the cam chain tensioner adjuster. This could cause the rear wheel to lock up and may disturb the riders ability to control the motorcycle which could result in an accident.
Recall affected machines and fit ratchet type chain tensioner adjuster kit.

FRONT SUSPENSION STRUT MOUNTING STUDS MAY SHEAR
Due to flexing of the suspension strut mounting turret it is possible that the suspension strut mounting studs may shear. Should all 3 mounting studs shear the suspension strut may detach from the mounting turret.
Recall all affected vehicles for the fitment of upper and lower reinforcement plates to the suspension turret and the fitment of new strut mountings.

REAR BRAKE CALIPER MAY BECOME DETACHED
There is a possibility that the rear brake caliper mounting bolts may become loose. This could cause the rear brake caliper to become detached and the rear brake becoming inoperative. In extreme cases the rear brake caliper may become entangled in the rear wheel possibly causing loss of control and a possible accident.
Recall affected machines to slacken and retorque rear caliper retaining bolts.

OIL PUMP COULD DRAW AIR INTO OIL PUMP INLET - ENGINE FAILURE MAY OCCUR
There is a possibility that the oil pump could draw air into the pump inlet during certain engine running conditions. As a result it may not deliver adequate lubrication to the engine resulting in damage to the con-rod big end bearing. If major damage did occur to the big end bearings this would be accompanied by abnormal engine noise and in the worse case sudden engine failure possibly causing the rear wheel to momentarily lock up disturbing the riders ability to control the motorcycle.
Recall affected machines and fit oil guide plate.

POSSIBILITY THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG WHEN ACTIVATED MAY DEPLOY WITH A FORCE GREATER THAN ORIGINALLY DESIGNED
During manufacture of the airbag propellant module the propellant crystals were exposed to a high humidity environment which increased the moisture content to 1.2% with the result that during activation the airbag might deploy with a greater force than originally designed.
Recall affected vehicles and replace the drivers airbag with a quality assured unit.

ENGINE MAY SEIZE AND CAUSE REAR WHEEL TO LOCK
The cam chain adjuster may not provide consistent tension to the cam chain in the engine. This could lead to cam chain breakage. Sudden engine failure while riding could cause rear wheel lockup.
The affected machines will be fitted with a modified cam chain adjuster and modified cam chain guide number two.

SEAT BELT STALK
The front seat belt stalk(s) may fracture as a result of inappropriate stressing.
The affected vehicles are being recalled for replacement of the front seat belts.
POSSIBLE FAILURE OF GRAB RAIL
The fixing bracket portion of the Pillion Passenger Grab Handle may not have enough strength and if excessive force is applied to this area such as using the Grab Handle to lift or drag the motorcycle the Grab Handle could break or partially fail at this point. This in turn could lead to the complete failure of the Grab Handle during sudden hard braking with a pillion passenger.
Recall affected machines and fit a modified grab handle.
