REDUCTION IN BRAKING EFFICIENCY
Moisture is absorbed by the brake fluid over time due to its hygroscopic nature. This moisture can cause corrosion to form in the piston and return spring within the brake master cylinder. As this corrosion forms it can cause the fluid to react and produce a small amount of gas. This gas may give a softer or spongy feel to the brake lever. In extreme cases this could reduce braking efficiency.
Recall all affected machines and replace the brake master cylinder.
REDUCED BRAKING EFFICIENCY
The ABS system may not function correctly causing longer stopping distances than expected and also the fault may not illuminate the ABS warning lamp. This is due to a none conformance on production with the ABS unit.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the ABS unit.
POSSIBILITY OF FIRE
It is possible that if the blower motor becomes jammed the temperature fuse of the resistor may not cut out. This can then cause a section of the air conditioning unit to overheat and possibly result in a vehicle fire.
Recall all affected vehicles and replace the resistor assembly.
ENGINE MAY STALL
The engine may cut out because the side stand switch mounting bolts can become loose. This in turn can cause the switch connection to be lost.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the bolts with modified bolts and washers.
BRAKE LIGHTS MAY FAIL
The Brake light switch may fail in use when the lever is applied slowly and repeatedly in heavy traffic. This can result in the failure of the brake lights to illuminate and the rider may be unable to restart the engine if the engine is switched off..
Replace the brake light switch within the VIN range
ESP MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY
Possibility of improper ABS/ESP/TCS function during extreme driving conditions due to production failure of certain ESP units.Normal braking is not affected.
Check ESP unit and if affected replace the ESP unit.
FUEL MAY LEAK
The protection coating on the vehicles fuel tank has insufficient adhesion this could cause delamination of the coating from the underlying coating. This could result in corrosion of the fuel tank and if not rectified could result in a fuel leak.
Recall all affected vehicles to check the fuel tank. Depending on the tank is corroded or not and the extent of the corrosion the tank will either receive additional corrosion protection or a replacement tank.
TYRE MAY FOUL BODY
It is possible that the standard 15 inch steel wheel may have been replaced with 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels by dealers. This can result if driven on full lock and up or down high objects in the tyre contacting the inside of the inner wheel arch/housing.
Recall all potentially affected vehicles to have the steering rack replaced with a rack that is used with 16/17 inch alloy wheels as standard.
ENGINE MAY CUT OUT
Regulator/Rectifier unit may fail in use due to poor adhesion between an internal circuit board and the external heat sink (external casing). resulting in an open circuit and failure. This causes insufficient battery charging current to the battery and can lead to engine stalling and non start when in use.
Replacement of all Regulator/Rectifiers in VIN range with quality assured units.

DRIVE BELT TENSIONER MAY BREAK.
The internal spring within the drive belt tensioner may break causing the drive belt to loose tension. This will prevent the alternator water pump and air-conditioning compressor pulleys from operating. Warning lamps associated with battery charging and engine coolant temperature will illuminate. In the worst case the drive belt may come off preventing the power steering pulley from operating increased driver effort will be required to steer the vehicle.
Replacement of the drive belt tensioner assembly.
FUEL MAY LEAK
The sealing area of the fuel tank may not be to specification. This can result in fuel being allowed to leak pass the fuel pump to tank seal.
Recall all affected machine to check the width of the sealing surface and if found to be out of specification replace the fuel tank.
