DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 76–100 of 100 recalls.
FUEL MAY LEAK
On affected vehicles the fuel filter may crack around inlet connection. This will allow fuel to leak which may cause a smell within the vehicle interior and possibly contaminate the road environment. This may affect the handling of the vehicle and of other traffic..
Check type of filter fitted. If not of improved type then replace with improved filter.
SIDE AIRBAG DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION DISABLED
Some vehicles may be fitted with airbag control units with incorrect parameters programmed. On these vehicles the diagnostic function for the side crash sensors is deactivated resulting in potential faults not being recognised and the airbag warning not illuminating.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to re programme the airbag control unit.
FUEL MAY LEAK
On 2.0l Common Rail engines of a limited production period faulty material can cause leaks on the high pressure pipes during the service life of the vehicle.
Anti-vibration balance weights will be fitted on the high-pressure pipes.

CLUTCH MAY OPERATE INADVERTENTLY WITH UNEXPECTED LOSS OF DRIVE
In rare cases an incorrect interpretation of the clutch temperature can occur which results in the clutch opening unexpectedly with loss of drive.
Recall affected vehicles and update/reprogramme gearbox control unit.

Recall affected vehicles and update/reprogramme gearbox control unit.
RISK OF FIRE
The contact resistance on the earth connection of the heating element for the additional air heater can get too high. This can lead to high heat development in the connections scorching and a risk of fire
Recall affected vehicles and check the tightening torque of the earth connection.
INCORRECT CURTAIN AIRBAG MAY ACTIVATE
It has been identified that some of the wires within airbag control unit block connector have been incorrectly installed. In the event of a collision this will result in the activation of the curtain airbag on the opposite side to the impact.
Recalled vehicles will have the wiring to the control unit checked and rectified should this be necessary.

Recalled vehicles will have the wiring to the control unit checked and rectified should this be necessary.
FLYWHEEL MAY FAIL RESULTING IN FIRE
It has been identified that the two mass flywheel can become damaged because of a not optimally aligned through-flow restrictor in the clutch pressure pipe. This situation can lead to total failure of the flywheel and under unfavourable conditions a fire
Recalled vehicles will have the make of the two mass flywheel identified and if necessary replaced together with the breather of the clutch pressure pipe.
BOLTS OF THE TANDEM FUEL PUMP COVER MAY BREAK
It is advised that on some vehicles fitted with a 3 and 4 cylinder pump injector engine the bolts of the tandem fuel pump cover may break due to a bolt production fault. As a result the pump housing will not be tight and a diesel fuel leak may occur.
Recalled vehicles will have the pump checked for being of a certain manufacture. If found to be within the affected range the pump housing cover bolts will be replaced.

THE SIDE AIR BAG WIRING MAY BE INCORRECT
The wires for the Air Bag Unit block connector were incorrectly located for the side airbags which could result in the opposite side air bag being ignited
Recall affected vehicles to check and if necessary correct control unit
REAR WINDOW WIPER MAY BREAK OFF
The rear window wiper may loosen during high speed driving. This may cause the wiper to break off.
Replace the wiper arm and blade
BRAKE VACUUM SUPPLY PIPE CONCERN
On Octavia vehicles within the affected chassis number range tension cracks may occur on the vacuum pipe to the brake servo in the area of the pipe connections due to a manufacturing fault. If a vacuum pipe leaks the brake servo loses it's function. Without servo assistance a lot more force must be used on the pedal. But this will not lead to total failure of the brake system.
The fitted vacuum pipes will be checked and if necessary replaced.
ANTI LOCK BRAKE CONTROL UNIT CONCERN
There is a risk that an electrical fault in the anti lock brake control unit (ABS) can cause overheating of related electrical components. This may lead to fire damage and cause the service brake to revert to a non-anti lock mode of operation.
Recall affected vehicles to check the part number and supplier code of the ABS control unit. Renew the ABS control unit where found necessary.
FUEL LEAKAGE CONCERN
Fuel tank may leak.
Recall affected vehicles check the fuel tank for leaks and replace where necessary.
PASSENGER AIR BAG CONCERN
The passenger airbag may not release correctly because of a leak in the pressure reservoir of the gas generator.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the passenger air bag.
POSSIBILITY THAT AN INCORRECT BRAKE VACUUM SERVO HAS BEEN FITTED
On Skoda Octavia LX vehicles which are not equipped with ABS brake servo units designed only for ABS vehicles have been installed. Due to the different performance of the brake servo units a risk exists that the brakes could lock under severe driving conditions (ice snow).
Recall vehicles to replace the brake servo unit.
MALFUNCTION OF AIR BAG
The wiring to the air bag control unit can chafe on the brake/clutch lever. This may lead to malfunction of the air bag unit.
Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the air bag wiring re-routed and fixed to the bulkhead. Any wiring found to be damaged will be replaced or repaired.
CHAFING OF REAR BRAKE HOSES
The blanking bolts fitted to redundant seat belt mounting points may be excessively long and could chafe on the rear brake hoses. This could damage the hoses and lead to loss of brake fluid.
The affected vehicles are being recalled for removal of the subject bolts. These are being replaced with a suitable plastic rivet.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS/HANDBRAKE LEVER MOUNTING BRACKET SECURITY.
A. Potential loss of electrical power in any one of the fuse board circuits e.g. lights or windscreen wipers) due to poor quality soldered connections and possible damage to wiring behind the central console as a result of contact with the heater
A. Replace the fuse board with a quality assured unit and fit a protective clip to the heater controls on all the affected vehicles.
