THE CALIBRATION OF THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DIESEL PARTICLE FILTER
Engine management software issue could cause damage to the diesel particulate filter.
Replace the filter and update the engine management software.
DUE TO THE CALIBRATION OF THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE THE NOX EMISSIONS MAY NOT COMPLY WITH REGULATORY LIMITS
The calibration of the engine management software could result in emissions of NOx which do not comply with the regulatory limits.
Download new engine management software
A PLASTIC COMPONENT INSIDE THE EXHAUST LINE COULD UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS DAMAGE THE DIESEL PARTICLE FILTER
A plastic component inside the exhaust line could under certain conditions damage the Diesel particle filter.
Check and if necessary replace the particle filter.
Engine oil gallery sealing plug incorrectly tightened
On the affected vehicles the tightening of a sealing plug on the engine oil gallery may not be correct to specification. This could lead over time to an oil leak which in rare cases could result in oil leaking on to the road.
The remedy consists of tightening the engine oil gallery sealing plug to the correct torque
Engine could overheat leading to failure
Engine could overheat leading to failure in extreme cases
Download new engine management software
AIRBAGS MAY NOT BE TRIGGERED IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION
On the affected vehicles an internal component within the airbag triggering ECU may have been damaged which could lead to non deployment. There are no early warning signs or symptoms for the customer to indicate if the ECU is incorrect.
The manufacturer has no simple method to check the internal component. Therefore all ECU's in affected vehicles to be changed as a precaution.
ENGINE MAY OVERHEAT
The engine electronic cooling management control strategy and the maximum temperature alert threshold could cause the engine to overheat. This could result in a warning light and a message being displayed on the instrument panel.
On affected vehicles download a new engine management software in order to modify the cooling management parameters to improve the control of the engine operating temperature.
ENGINE COMPONENT MAY NOT BE TO SPECIFICATION
An engine component may not be to specification which could result in loss of engine performance. This may lead to the engine stalling and potentially causing an engine failure. In very unlikely circumstances the vehicle speed may increase without warning but will stop on its own after a few seconds.
On affected vehicles carry out a functional diagnostic check of the engine. If necessary replace the engine.
STARTER SUPPLY WIRE MAY CHAFE
The positioning of the starter motor supply terminal may not conform to specification. Contact with a neighbouring component could cause a short circuit.
On affected vehicles check the position of the terminal and where necessary reposition. Replace damaged components if necessary.
FRONT WISHBONE RETAINING BOLTS MAY NOT BE TO SPECIFICATION
The front suspension wishbone fixing bolts may have a non-conformity which could lead to a risk of them breaking. The driver would be aware of a change in the behaviour of the vehicles directional control.
On affected vehicles replace the front suspension wishbone fixing bolts
STARTER MOTOR MAY NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
A possible nonconformity of an internal component of the starter motor relay could affect the control of the starter motor. This could adversely affect the starting operation and damage the starter motor due to overheating and in extreme cases there is a risk of fire.
On affected vehicles check and where necessary replace the starter motor relay.
TYRES MAY DEFLATE UNEXPECTEDLY
A possible non-conformity in the fitting of the tyre valves as well as an incorrect tightening torque of the valve securing nut could cause a valve to fail and a rapid loss of pressure in the tyres. The tyre pressure monitoring warning lamp would illuminate to warn the driver.
On affected vehicles replace the tyre valves using a fitting jig.
GLASS PANEL MAY DETACH WITHOUT WARNING
The bonding of the tailgate components may not be to specification this could affect the retention of bonded parts over time. The owner could notice the individual components becoming loose or detached from the tailgate such as brackets bonded trim panels etc If left unnoticed bonded items could become detached from the tailgate.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the complete tailgate assembly.
FUEL MAY LEAK
The fuel injectors supply rail could develop a leak over a period of time leading to a drop in fuel pressure which can affect the operation of the stop start system. In some extreme cases the engine might not restart and a spray of petrol under the bonnet may occur which is a fire risk.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the fuel injector supply rail. Where necessary replace the fuel injector supply rail.
DOOR MAY OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY
A manufacturing defect in one of the components of the door locks could cause jamming of the internal mechanism and prevent the closing of one or more of the vehicle's doors. In rare cases the door could unlock and open unexpectedly.
On affected vehicles check and where necessary replace door locks.
OIL LEAK MAY DAMAGE ENGINE
An oil leak could develop at the turbocharger lubrication union retaining bolt due to a non-conformity of this part.
On affected vehicles replace the turbocharger lubrication union bolt and its seals.
DOORS MAY OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY
A manufacturing defect of a component within any of the four door locks could result in jamming of the internal mechanism which prevents the closing of any of the vehicle's doors or risk unexpected unlocking and opening of the doors.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary replace the affected door locks.
FUEL MAY LEAK
The fuel heating device integrated in to the diesel fuel filter cover may be defective and allow heat to build up within the electrical supply connector causing the cover to distort and air to enter the fuel circuit. This could make the vehicles difficult to start and a warning light will be illuminated on the dash board. The engine could be difficult or not possible to start. In the worst cases a diesel fuel leak could eventually appear.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the fuel heater cover. Additionally the electrical connector will be inspected and where necessary replaced.
POSSIBILITY OF LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL
The fixing bolts of the front suspension wishbones may not be to the correct specification. This could lead to the bolts failing and the security of the wishbones being compromised. If this occurs there is a possibility that the directional control of the vehicle could be adversely affected.
Recall the vehicle that are likely to be affected and replace all the fixing bolts of the front suspension wishbones.
THE INCORRECT GEAR MAY BE SELECTED
On affected vehicles the gear lever reverse locking ring might not be to the correct specification. This could cause difficulty in selecting first and reverse gear or an error when changing between 1st and reverse..
Replace the gear lever reverse locking collar.
FUEL MAY LEAK AND CREATE FIRE RISK
It has been established that the high pressure fuel rail pipes on the engine have not been torqued to the correct specification. This can result in poor sealing of the rail which can cause as fuel leak onto the engine. If the vaporised fuel comes into contact with a hot engine component there can be a risk of an engine bay fire.
Recall all the affected vehicles and retorque the high pressure fuel rail pipes.

REAR SCREEN COULD DETACH
On the affected vehicles the rear screen seal may not conform which could lead to water ingress in the boot and poor ageing of the seal. In very rare cases the rear screen could detach.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to remove and refit the rear screen.
