Qashqai (J12) Fuel Pipe
For affected vehicles it has been identified that there is potential for movement between the fuel pipe and its retaining clip within the engine bay this movement can potentially lead to wear on the fuel pipe. In an extreme situation this may cause a hole in the fuel pipe resulting in a potential fuel leak.
Carry out an inspection of the fuel pipe and If identified wear is within limits apply protective Grommet to fuel tube. If wear is judged to be outside acceptable limits or a fuel leak from the fuel pipe is identified replace the fuel pipe.
Qashqai (J12) Battery Management System
For affected vehicles due to a software concern the calculated and displayed battery state of charge may rapidly fluctuate.
Reprograming of the battery management system with the latest software.
Juke (F16) Qashqai (J12) and Leaf (ZE1) VIN Scan
On affected vehicles the VIN stored in the vehicle system may not match the actual VIN of the vehicle. This may lead to a situation where a vehicle user can see information related to a different vehicle resulting in a data security breach.
Replace the navigation display / control unit and the telematics control unit.

On affected vehicles the VIN stored in the vehicle system may not match the actual VIN of the vehicle. This may lead to a situation where a vehicle user can see information related to a different vehicle resulting in a data security breach.
Replace the navigation display / control unit and the telematics control unit.
On affected vehicles the capacitive mat for hand on detection may have been damaged during manufacture of the steering wheel. The steering wheel may falsely detect the driver has their hands on the wheel with ProPilot engaged and not give a warning to place hands back on the wheel.
On affected vehicles the capacitive mat for hand on detection may have been damaged during manufacture of the steering wheel. The steering wheel may falsely detect the driver has their hands on the wheel with ProPilot engaged and not give a warning to place hands back on the wheel.
Inspect the steering wheel serial number and replace with a new countermeasure part where necessary.
On affected vehicles the child lock function on the rear door locks may be out of specification. The child lock may become disengaged when the inside door handle is operated.
On affected vehicles the child lock function on the rear door locks may be out of specification. The child lock may become disengaged when the inside door handle is operated.
Replace the rear door lock assemblies on both sides with a countermeasure part.
THE STEERING ASSIST MAY CAUSE A CLACKING NOISE DURING STEERING OPERATION.
Some steering rack trial parts were reintroduced into the normal production process.
Replace the steering rack with a countermeasure part.
THE INCORRECT WEIGHT INFORMATION WAS APPLIED TO THE CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY
The incorrect weight information was applied to the Certificate of Conformity (COC).
To proactively update the Certificate of Conformity (COC) and replace the vehicle registration document of all potentially affected vehicles.
POSSIBLE REDUCED RETENTION FORCE OF THE REAR DOOR CHILD LOCK SWITCH
Possible reduced retention force of the Rear Door Child Lock switch.
Fit a countermeasure part into the child lock door switch aperture of all potentially affected vehicles.
INCORRECT PERMISSABLE FRONT AXLE FIGURES WERE GIVEN ON THE VIN LABEL
Incorrect permissible front axle figures were given on the VIN label.
Replace VIN label with new
CERAMIC CAPACITOR FITTED TO THE RADIATOR FAN ASSEMBLY MOTOR CONTROLLER MAY FAIL
The radiator fan assembly motor controller may have a ceramic capacitor fitted that can potentially fail.
Replace radiator fan assembly with a countermeasure part.
BODY CONTROL MODULE MAY FAIL TO WARN DRIVER OF INDICATOR LIGHT MALFUNCTION
Due to an incorrect software setting of the Body Control Module (BCM) the system may not trigger a warning (double speed flashing) in the case of a direction indicator lamp failure.
On affected vehicles reprogram the Body Control Module.
VIN GROSS COMBINATION WEIGHT INFORMATION IS INCORRECT
VIN label contains incorrect Gross Combination Weight (GCW) information for manual and CVT vehicles.
On affected vehicles replace the VIN label with a new one showing the correct information.
DOOR MIRROR DIRECTION INDICATOR MAY NOT OPERATE
The door mirror indicator repeater may not operate as intended when the heated rear screen is switched on.
On affected vehicles inspect wiring and where necessaary rework the indicator connnections.
REAR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH PROTECTOR MAY DEFORM AND RUB AGAINST AND DAMAGE BRAKE HOSE
In conditions such as high speed and high vehicle loading the rear right wheel arch protector may contact the brake hose. Over time repeated contact could wear through the outer protective cover of the brake hose. This could damage the inner reinforcing braiding and in an extreme case wear a hole in the hose which could lead to brake fluid leakage.
On affected vehicles re-work the rear wheel arch protector and if necessary replace the brake pipe with new.
REAR OXYGEN SENSOR MAY FAIL
If an electrical short occurs in the supply to the rear oxygen sensor the senor will fail but the driver will not see an immediate warning. A MIL warning may display after continued driving depending on driving/vehicle characteristics.
Reprogram the ECU to display a warning if the rear oxygen sensor fails.
TOWBAR MAY DETACH
The bolted joints fixing the towbar kit to the chassis of the vehicle may loosen. In an extreme situation where the vehicle continues to be driven with loose bolted joints the towbar kit may detach from the vehicle.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect and where necessary rework the towbar kit.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF STEERING
It is possible that the steering wheel boss may not have been produced to the correct specification. If a higher than normal loading is applied to the steering wheel in its normal operation it is possible that the steering wheel boss may separate from the steering column. This can result in a loss of steering control.
Recall all affected vehicles to check and if necessary replace the steering wheel assembly.
FUEL MAY LEAK
The fuel filter hose connector may not be fully connected to the fuel filter. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition a fuel leak may occur or in extreme conditions the engine may stall.
Recall all affected vehicles and inspect the fuel filter hose connector. If found to be faulty carry out remedial work.
POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE MAY FAIL
It has been established that the casting for the heat sink on the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control unit may be out of specification. In extreme cases this can cause a failure of the EPS motor which will illuminate a warning light on the dash. Whilst directional control is not affected it is possible that the driver will experience a sudden loss of power assistance.
Recall all affect vehicles and replace the EPS control unit.
LOSS OF STEERING
The cover screw securing the pinion shaft may loosen causing noise during steering operation. Continued use in this condition could result in the screw coming out of the gear housing and in certain circumstances cause a loss of steering control.
Recall the potentially affected vehicles to fit a locking plate to the cover screw that secures the pinion shaft.
FUEL MAY LEAK FROM PARTICULATE FILTER
It has been identified that a connector in the diesel particulate filter fuel system may not be correctly attached. If this is ignored fuel may leak from the connector during a particulate filter regeneration cycle.
Recalled vehicles will have the connector checked and tightened as necessary.
ENGINE MAY STALL
There is a possibility that the air conditioning compressor may seize which could result in an unexpected engine stall.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the a/c compressor and the drive belt and idler roller.
POTENTIAL LOSS OF STEERING
There is a possibility that a steering cover screw may not be sufficiently tight. This could lead to initially free play and noise in the steering which if not attended to eventually could result in the loss of steering control.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect and where necessary replace the steering gear.
