POTENTIAL LOSS OF STEERING
It has been identified that the possibility exists that a needle bearing has been omitted from the steering shaft. Additionally the cover screw may not have been tightened to the correct torque. This may result in the cover screw becoming loose initiating free play and noise within the steering system. Ultimately steering control may be lost.
Recalled vehicles will have the steering gear inspected. The steering gear will be replaced should this be found to be necessary.
POTENTIAL LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL
It has been identified that the front suspension lower ball joints on some of the subject vehicles have not been fully seated into the hub. This has resulted in the securing bolt not fitting into the groove in the ball joint shank. If the situation goes uncorrected the ball joint could detach which could result in loss of vehicle control.
Recalled vehicles will be checked for correct location of the ball joint and rectified as necessary.
