Update software of control units
Mercedes-Benz are updating the engine control unit software in diesel vehicles with emissions standard Euro 5 as part of a mandatory recall. This measure was supposedly carried out previously on the vehicles included in this measure but the software update was not properly documented in our systems at that time.
Mercedes-Benz will perform control unit programming on the vehicles affected using the Service Measure special process as part of a recall. As part of this the software of the affected control units will be updated. The scope of the affected control units may vary depending on the vehicle equipment.
SRPC2504 - Ground connection bolting
Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain E-Class (214 platform) and GLC (254 platform) vehicles the bolts of certain 12V- and 48V- ground connections might not have been fastened with the specified torque.
As a remedy Mercedes-Benz AG via its Mercedes-Benz service partners will check the bolting of the ground connections and perform according repairs if necessary.
SRPC2506 - Driver seat belt fitting
Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain C-Class (206 platform) vehicles the safety cap of the seatbelt end fitting on the driver seat might not be installed correctly.
As a remedy Mercedes-Benz AG via its Mercedes-Benz service partners will check the safety cap of the seat belt end fitting on the affected vehicles and rework it if necessary.
SRPC2500 – Update battery management system control unit software
Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain EQA (243 platform) vehicles a risk of fire of the high-voltage battery (EB330) cannot be ruled out.
As a remedy Mercedes-Benz AG via its Mercedes-Benz service partners will update the software of the battery management system on the affected vehicles. Until this remedy becomes available customers are instructed to charge their vehicle's battery only to a maximum of 80%.
