2019 to 2021 Model Year Jaguar I-PACE Battery Fire or Smoke
Some vehicles have experienced thermal overload in the high voltage traction battery pack which may present as smoke or fire. Since the installation of protective software field evidence has shown that there remains a risk of thermal overload in vehicles with battery packs manufactured up to the end of 2021 model year.
As an interim repair the vehicles will have software installed to restrict the maximum state of charge to 90% whilst a permanent remedy is developed.
Security Guidance
Jaguar Land Rover in conjunction with law enforcement and insurance bodies is aware of the increase in thefts of vehicles in specific geographical locations within the United Kingdom. There is no fault with Jaguar Land Rover's security systems and they continue to meet stringent automotive legislation. Jaguar Land Rover is offering owners guidance on how to maximise vehicle security and protect against theft
Vehicle registered keepers will be sent a security guidance letter only - there is no repair action.

Jaguar E-PACE Inappropriate Passenger Airbag Deployment
On certain 2021 to 2024 Model Year Jaguar E-PACE vehicles during a passenger airbag deployment the airbag may tear as a result of improper folding of the airbag during the airbag assembly process.
Affected Vehicles will have the passenger airbag module and associated components replaced.
Electric Power Inverter Converter B (EPICB) Software Update
On affected vehicles due to a software issue in the Electric Power Inverter Converter B (EPICB) it is possible that as the high voltage battery depletes during driving in EV mode the engine may not restart when the state of charge reduces and the vehicle will therefore lose power. There will not be an associated warning to the driver.
Vehicle’s software to be updated in the Electric Power Inverter Converter B (EPICB) and other modules as required to ensure complete cross-module integration. In parallel an over-the-air update will be rolled out and customers who successfully complete this update will not need to visit a retailer.
AJ21-D4 Turbo Oil Feed Pipe Leak - Incorrectly Repaired
On affected vehicles the turbocharger oil feed pipe clamp may have been installed in the incorrect orientation. Incorrectly installed pipe clamp will not provide sufficient clamp load and therefore risk an oil leak.
Replace oil feed pipe O-rings and fit replacement pipe clamp correctly.
AJ20-D6 and AJ20-P6 Engine Oil Filter Housing Cracked
The manufacturer has determined on affected engines the oil filter housing will over time and with vehicle use crack allowing oil to leak out onto the engine and into the engine bay.
Replace the oil filter housing assembly complete with oil filter element and cap.
Jaguar E-PACE Inappropriate Passenger Airbag Deployment
On affected vehicles during a passenger airbag deployment the airbag may tear as a result of the facia airbag deployment door panel not being sufficiently weakened.
Vehicles will have the passenger airbag module and associated components replaced.
AJ20-D6 and AJ20-P6 Engine Oil Filter Housing Cracked
On affected vehicles the incorrect specification of plastic was used to manufacture the oil filter housing. This housing may over time and with vehicle use crack. This could result in oil under pressure leaking and coming into contact with hot components of the engine which may result in a fire. Additionally oil may leak onto the road surface posing a skid hazard.
Replace the oil filter housing complete with filter and associated O-rings.
AJ21-D4 Turbo Oil Feed Pipe Leak
On certain vehicles there may be insufficient clamp load on the turbocharger oil feed pipe which may over time loosen and lead to an oil leak.
The oil feed pipe will be removed the O-rings replaced lubricated and an additional clamp installed.

I-PACE Traction Battery Thermal Overload - Elevated Risk
On affected vehicles the traction battery packs which contain cells manufactured on or before 31 May 2018 are exposed to multiple technical issues that have shown to contribute to an elevated risk of thermal overload.
The traction battery pack will be replaced with a new pack or the vehicle will be re-acquired from the customer.
I-PACE High Voltage battery loose busbar fixings
On affected vehicles the fasteners for the battery module to module electrical connecting busbars may not be sufficiently secure.
The busbar fixings will be inspected and as required new components installed.
On affected vehicles a crack may be present in the floor tunnel strengthening panel. Where a crack is present there is risk that the crack may propagate which may impact the seat anchorage structural performance.

Drilling a hole at either end of the crack and installation of an additional aluminium plate if a crack is present.
Jaguar I-PACE High Voltage Battery Pack Fire or Smoke - Incorrectly Repaired
On certain vehicles recall R/2023/154 has been incorrectly completed. As a result the correct software was not downloaded to the vehicles concerned. Incorrectly repaired vehicles will continue to have a risk of vehicle thermal overload condition.
Vehicles will receive an update to the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) software that will monitor the battery pack assembly operational status.
On affected Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) it is possible that the internal combustion engine will not start when required. This may occur whilst the vehicle is in motion and the vehicle will operate in Electric Vehicle (EV) Mode only. When the EV system is no longer able to propel the vehicle the vehicle will unexpectedly slow down and no drive is possible.

Software update to the Powertrain control module
On affected I-PACE vehicles without heated front windscreen the High Voltage Coolant Heater (HVCH) can fail to operate and will not provide windscreen defrosting capability.

Replace the high voltage coolant heater.
On affected Jaguar I-PACE vehicles there is a risk of high voltage battery pack assembly thermal overload. A vehicle thermal overload condition such as fire or smoke can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle as well as property damage.

For certain 2023 & 2024 Model Year 3.0L AJ20-P6 Jaguar F-Pace vehicles a small number of engines the cam carrier oil gallery hasn t been fully drilled. As a result the oil channel could be blocked leading to accumulation of oil against the pressure control valve rubber membrane and subsequently an external oil leak or increased oil carryover into the air intake system.

The engine cam carrier will be inspected and where an incorrectly machined cam carrier is found replace it with a correctly machined component. Depending on mileage and engine conditions further associated components may require replacement.
On affected vehicles there is a risk where the water pump pully drive belt can become damaged leading to detachment or destruction. Where water pump pully drive is lost this leads to a loss coolant flow in the engine.
