Some vehicles fitted with a high voltage battery may have internal cell voltage deviation
Some vehicles fitted with a high voltage battery may have internal cell voltage deviation. If this occurs it may result in the risk of an electrical short circuit inside the battery. Until the high voltage battery software has been updated we recommend the vehicle to be parked in a well ventilated area. The vehicle can be used as normal.
Hyundai has launched a Safety Recall to update the battery management system (BMS) software.
The vehicle fuel pump may have an internal malfunction which may fail over time.
The vehicle fuel pump may have an internal malfunction which may fail over time. The malfunction indicator light MIL on the vehicle instrument cluster may illuminate when this symptom occurs and if ignored and the vehicle continues to be driven the vehicle may lose motive power.
The affected vehicles will have the fuel pump replaced as a permanent solution
Some vehicles may have an instrument cluster operational concern whilst driving the vehicle
Some vehicles may face a concern where the instrument cluster panel may reboot during vehicle operation potentially resulting in a blank instrument cluster display screen.
To correct this an ‘Over the Air ‘ software update to the vehicles will be deployed remotely.

The vehicle charge port door outer panel may detach
The vehicle charge port door outer panel may have insufficient engagement between the outer panel retaining hooks and the charging port door increasing the risk of detachment during operation.
To rectify this issue the charge port door outer panel assembly will be adhered as a permanent solution.
Driver-side Airbag (DAB) Inflator may not deploy as intended
Driver-side Airbag (DAB) Inflator may not deploy as intended. This may result in a component entering into the vehicle occupant compartment.
The DAB Inflator will be replaced.
The vehicle fixings underneath the passenger front seat may not been fitted with protection caps
The vehicle fixings underneath the passenger front seat may have not been fitted with protection caps.
To rectify this concern protective caps will be installed to the fixings
The fuel tank may have been produced with a manufacturing defect which may result in fuel leakage in a limited number of vehicles
The fuel tank may have been produced with a manufacturing defect which may result in fuel leakage in a limited number of vehicles
The fuel tank will be replaced to correct the potential concern.
The vehicle fuel pump may have an internal malfunction which may fail over time. In case of a fuel pump malfunction the instrument cluster warning light may illuminate and if ignored the vehicle may lose motive power.

The alternator electrical wiring harness may be incorrectly tightened within the engine bay junction box which may result in high electrical resistance
Hyundai has identified that the alternator electrical wiring harness may be incorrectly tightened within the engine bay junction box which may result in a high electrical resistance.
Inspect and instal new retaining nut or wiring harness
The subject vehicles may experience a loss of brake assistance and brake performance may e reduced. The foot brake will still operate but in a manner of a vehicle without a functioning brake booster (less assistance)

Engine control unit software update
The vehicle exhaust gas recirculation valve may have an internal short circuit which in some cases may result in the vehicle engine stalling.
The vehicle exhaust gas recirculation valve may have an internal short circuit which in some cases may result in the vehicle engine stalling.
Affected vehicles will have the exhaust gas recirculation valve replaced
The starter motor may become contaminated with water after driving the vehicle in abnormally wet weather conditions such as a water flooded area. This may result in an electrical short circuit occurring within the starter motor.
On affected vehicles after driving though abnormally wet weather or flood water the starter motor may become contaminated which could result in a short circuit within the starter motor.
Replace the starter motor.
The rear inlet and outlet heater coolant hoses may melt due to the diesel particulate filter overheating during regeneration
The rear inlet and outlet heater coolant hoses may melt due to the diesel particulate filter overheating during regeneration
Install modified hoses.
The main floor wiring harness could become damaged due to contact with the second-row bench seat folding hinge assembly. This may result in a malfunction of the supplemental restraint system.
Some Santa Fe (MX5) vehicles may experience the main floor wiring harness becoming damaged due to contact with the second-row bench seat folding hinge assembly.
The affected vehicles will be inspected and the main wiring harness will be secured and routed as specified within the Technical Service Bulletin. In the event the main wiring harness is damaged the main floor wire harness will be replaced
A potential safety defect has been identified which could occur within the ABS control unit. The ABS control unit within the affected VIN range could experience an electrical short circuit.
On affected vehicles the HECU (Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit) for the ABS could experience an electrical short circuit with a potential that the malfunction indicator light may become illuminated (MIL and /or ABS light) and a burning smell may emanate from the engine compartment and the HECU components.
The affected vehicles will have a low-capacity fuse installed within the engine compartment junction box
