25S58 – Transit Custom PHEV and Explorer PHEV – Software update
On affected vehicles the remedy software for a previous recall may not have been installed correctly. In the event of a high voltage battery cell internal short customers may experience a battery power off resulting in a loss of motive power with coasting and battery thermal venting potentially resulting in a vehicle fire.
Update the Battery Energy Control Module software. If a high voltage battery cell capacity anomaly is detected replace the high voltage battery pack.
25S58 – Transit Custom PHEV and Explorer PHEV – Software update
On affected vehicles the remedy software for a previous recall may not have been installed correctly. 25S51 Transit Custom – Passenger airbag replacement required
On affected vehicles in the event of a crash that triggers the passenger airbag the inflator tube may rupture. The rupture can result in metal fragmentation damage to the airbag cushion complete loss of airbag functionality and an increased risk of injury or death.
Replace the passenger airbag.
24B36 Transit - Chassis Inspection
Ford constantly monitors production processes and vehicles in operation. While monitoring vehicles in operation we have become aware of a number of Transit Chassis vehicles which may require a strengthening plate to be fitted to the vehicle’s chassis. The strengthening plate is precautionary and will provide additional strength and durability for the life of the vehicle.
The Ford dealer will visually inspect the affected chassis section for any initial damage and will install a reinforcement plate to prevent any potential future deformation.
25S86 Transit Transit Custom - Potential Panther Engine Timing Idler Gear Loose
On affected vehicles the engine idler gear bolt may shear resulting in the idler gear dropping and primary drive failure. This can result in complete engine failure leading to a stall and/or no start condition.
Replace the idler gear and idler bolt.

25S59 Transit Transit Custom - Potential exhaust manifold nut incorrectly torqued
On affected vehicles the correct tightening torque was not reached on some of the exhaust manifold nuts during the manufacturing process. This could lead to exhaust gas leaking and the melting of the nearby plastic oil separator causing oil to leak on to hot surfaces and the risk of fire.
Visually check to confirm all nut positions and condition. Remove the engine and replace the nut and stud if not ok.

On affected vehicles the remedy software for a previous recall may not have been installed correctly. It may be possible the driver or passenger windows will not automatically reverse when encountering an obstruction.
Update the Driver and Passenger Door Modules with the latest software and verify the process to ensure correct installation.
25C03 Transit Custom - Potential Child Lock Malfunction Issue
Affected vehicles may experience a malfunctioning child lock feature on the dual power sliding doors due to a missing wire in the wiring harness.
Fit the missing wire and route alongside the existing loom.
24S56 Transit Custom PHEV
On affected vehicles a component in the electric motor could over time slowly degrade and eventually fail leading to the electric motor failing without notice and a loss of propulsion.
Install a new electric motor.

Affected vehicles may experience chafing between the fuel line support shield and the fuel line which could result in damage to the fuel line.
Replace the fuel line support shield (bracket). Inspect the fuel lines and rework if necessary.

Affected vehicles potentially have a leaking screw connection in the rear left brake circuit. There is potential for the brake system to lack hydraulic pressure resulting in longer brake pedal travel and reduced brake performance.
Replace the affected part.
24C29 Transit - Side parking lights not operating correctly
On affected vehicles the incorrect software could prevent the Side Parking Light function from operating as intended therefore failing to comply with existing regulations.
Update the Body Control Module software.

On affected vehicles there may be damage to a section of the vehicle’s chassis.
Check the vehicle chassis and if found with a defect in the areas shown the manufacturer will buy back the vehicle.
24C22 - Transit Courier 17 tires with incorrect towing on the VIN label
On affected vehicles there is mismatch of details between the Vehicle Identification (VIN) Label Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and vehicle registration documents with regards to towing.
Replace the VIN label exchange the CoC papers and help with updating registration documentation if required.
