DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 201–225 of 238 recalls.
ELECTRIC SLIDING REAR DOOR
Electric Sliding door may open inadvertently.
Recall affected vehicles and check and upgrade door control system ECU.
POSSIBLE CHAFING OF OFFSIDE FRONT BRAKE PIPE
Offside front brake hose may chafe
Recall affected vehicles check and fit new pipe if necessary
POSSIBLE CRACKING OF LOWER ENGINE STABILISER ROD
The lower engine stabiliser rod may crack or break. This could result in detachment of the off side drive shaft on full lock.
Inspect the stabiliser rod welding and fit a new rod where found necessary.
FRONT HUB SECURITY
Front hub nut security pin may have been incorrectly fitted.
Recall affected vehicles check for correct fitment of pin and replace if necessary
WATER INGRESS INTO THE AIRBAG ECU
Water ingress into the airbag control unit (ECU) could result in illumination of the warning light and in the worst case unintentional deployment of the airbag.
Seal the airbag ECU compartment
UNINTENDED ACTIVATION OF SIDE WINDOW AIRBAGS
It is possible for the side window air bags to deploy unintentionally.
Replace the air bag central control unit.
POSSIBLE SHORT CIRCUIT IN ENGINE COOLING FAN CONTROL UNIT
A short circuit may occur in the engine cooling fan control unit with a resultant risk of overheating.
Fit a new cooling fan control unit.
INTERIOR FAN WIRING MAY CHAFE ON DASHBOARD SUPPORT
The interior fan wiring may chafe on a dashboard support. This could result in a short circuit and a fire in the fan unit.
Fit additional insulation and protection to the fan electrical wiring.
INCORRECT TORQUE OF WHEEL BOLTS
The road wheel fixing bolts may not have been correctly torqued and could loosen over a period of use.
Check the wheel fixing bolts for correct torque and tighten or renew as appropriate.
WATER INGRESS TO ABS CONTROL UNIT
Water may enter the ABS (antilock brake) control unit through a harness connector. This will cause the ABS control unit to malfunction and the fault warning lamp to illuminate.
Fit a new ABS wiring harness which has watertight connectors.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF BRAKE SERVO ASSISTANCE
There is a possibility that the control solenoids may not function in very cold temperatures resulting in loss of servo assistance.
Recall affected vehicles and replace control solenoids and fit weather shield.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF BRAKE SERVO ASSISTANCE
There is a possibility that the control solenoids may not function in very cold temperatures resulting in loss of servo assistance.
Recall affected vehicles and replace control solenoids and fit weather shield.
UNINTENDED DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG
The electrical wiring loom may chafe on the steering column and cause the unintentional deployment of the drivers air bag.
Check wiring loom for damage and reposition it clear of the steering column.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL CONCERN
The accelerator pedal may foul on its travel limiting stop and prevent the engine from decellerating when the pedal is released.
Fit a modified pedal travel limiting stop.
HANDBRAKE CONCERN
The handbrake cable may have been incorrectly fitted and could become disconnected from the rear brake mechanism. This would result in the handbrake becoming ineffective.
Check that the handbrake cable is correctly connected to the rear brake mechanism and fit a new cable where it is not.
STEERING ARMS MAY BREAK
There is a possibility that due to an incorrect specification the steering arms when subjected to unusual stress such as an impact may break.
Recall affected vehicles and replace steering arms with correct specification type.
STEERING ARMS MAY BREAK
There is a possibility that due to an incorrect specification the steering arms when subjected to unusual stress such as an impact may break.
Recall affected vehicles and replace steering arms with correct specification type.
UNINTENDED DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG
Possible water ingress into the electronic control unit (ECU) could result in unintentional deployment of the drivers air bag and passengers air bag where fitted.
Recall affected vehicles check for water ingress into the ECU and replace if necessary. Fit water protection to the ECU in all cases.
CORROSION OF METAL BRAKE PIPES
Prolonged exposure to the effects of road salt corrosion may result in perforation of the metal brake pipes and a consequential loss of braking efficiency.
Replace corroded brake pipes and apply corrosion prevention treatment to all brake pipes.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF POWER STEERING
The power assisted steering low pressure pipe may chafe on a hose clip. This could result in the loss of the hydraulic fluid and power assistance of the steering.
Check the steering low pressure hydraulic pipe for damage and reposition the hose clip where necessary.
VACUUM PUMP DRIVE PIN
Brake vacuum pump drive coupling dog may fail as a result of breakage. This could result in a loss of power assistance at the brake pedal.
Recall affected vehicles to fit a quality assured replacement drive pin to the vacuum pump.
FUEL TANK MOUNTINGS
Fuel tank rear mountings may not inadequately secure the tank with a risk of possible disengagement.
Recall affected vehicles and fit reinforcement plates to rear tank mountings.
POSSIBLE CHAFING OF BRAKE PIPES.
Possible chafing of front rigid brake pipes at near side front against the plastic wheel arch liner or against the gearbox mounting. Also at the off side front against the engine timing belt cover.
Reposition any chafing brake pipe to comply with the manufacturer's prescribed clearance between adjacent parts. Renew any brake pipe that has been chafed beyond a serviceable condition.
FUEL VAPOUR RE- CIRCULATION PIPE MAY BECOME DAMAGED
The fuel vapour re-circulation pipe could foul against the air-conditioning compressor pulley resulting in possible damage to the pipe and the risk of fire.
Recall affected vehicles and reposition re-circulation pipe away from compressor pulley.
BRAKE PEDAL MAY FRACTURE
There is a possibility that the brake pedal is of incorrect specification and could eventually fracture.
Recall affected vehicles and replace brake pedal with quality assured type.
