CRACKING OF FRONT AXLE U BOLTS
On a small batch of vehicles the material quality of the front U bolts is suspect and may result in cracking of the bolts.
Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the U bolts replaced with quality assured examples.

Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the U bolts replaced with quality assured examples.
SECURITY OF REAR SPRING PIN NUT
In a small number of cases the rear road spring bolt and nut have become loose.
The original rear spring nut will be replaced with a modified example incorporating more locking material.
POSSIBILITY OF INCORRECT BRAKE ACTUATORS
On a small number of vehicles incorrect brake actuators may be fitted to the front axle brakes.
The affected vehicles are being recalled to have the brake actuators inspected. Any incorrect units will be replaced with the correct type.
INOPERATIVE LOW FLUID WARNING
The low brake fluid warning light wire between the cab connector and the engine plug at the back of the instrument panel may have been omitted.
The affected vehicles are being recalled for the fitment of a link harness wire to the engine plug and connector.
POSSIBLE DETACHMENT OF PROPELLOR SHAFT
On vehicles fitted with the ZF S5 42 gearbox the output flange nut may loosen. This could result in detachment of the propellor shaft.
Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of a lock washer to prevent loosening of the output flange nut.
FAILURE OF POWER STEERING PUMP
A gear wheel in the power steering pump may crack causing loss of steering power assistance.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the power steering pump with a unit having a production date of 20A96 or greater.
FAILURE OF POWER STEERING PUMP
A gear wheel in the power steering pump may crack causing loss of steering power assistance.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the power steering pump with a unit having a production date of 20A96 or greater.
FAILURE OF POWER STEERING PUMP
A gear wheel in the power steering pump may crack causing loss of steering power assistance.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the power steering pump with a unit having a production date of 20A96 or greater.
SUSPECT QUALITY CAB PIVOT/STEERING BOX MOUNTING BRACKETS
A number of vehicles have been built where due to material inclusions the cab pivot/steering box mounting brackets are below the manufacturers specification.
Recall the affected vehicles for replacement of the subject bracket with one which is quality assured.
POSSIBLE RUPTURE OF POWER STEERING HOSE
The oil hose on the pressure side of the power steering system is not to specification and could rupture with resultant loss of steering power assistance.
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the pressure side hose with a modified and quality assured version.
INSECURITY OF GEARBOX
The bolts securing the clutch housing to the gearbox are incorrectly torqued. This may lead to the gearbox becoming loose.
Recall the affected vehicles and retighten the subject bolts to the correct torque.
FAILURE OF PROPELLOR SHAFT
Isolated instances of failure of the propellor shaft welding have occurred. (This campaign was launched to rework a batch of vehicles not included in Recall R1994/58).
Recall the affected vehicles and replace the propeller shaft with a quality assured unit. Replacement shafts are distinguished by having the letter S stamped on a flange.
TOWING CROSSMEMBER AND CAB MOUNTING BOLTS
On certain vehicles the bolts securing the towing crossmember and cab mountings may be defective.
Recall the affected vehicles for inspection of all the subject bolts. Those bolts identified as being defective will be replaced with modified examples.

Recall the affected vehicles for inspection of all the subject bolts. Those bolts identified as being defective will be replaced with modified examples.
TWISTED REAR S CAM AT SPLINES
During production of the vehicles concerned an electrical relay was not connected to the halt (or door) brake. As a result excessive air pressure can be applied to the rear brakes if the service brake is operated whilst the parking and halt brakes are
The single operator involved will connect the relay to the halt brake to prevent compounding if the service brake is applied. When this operation is complete the importer will be advised on a dedicated proforma. The condition of the rear S
AUTOMATIC BRAKE ADJUSTER MALFUNCTION
On axle production the breather plug may not have been removed from the rear axle spring brake units. This may result in a malfunction of the automatic adjustment of the brake expander unit.
Recall the affected vehicles and remove the plug from the breather hole.
STEERING COLUMN UPPER COUPLING FIXING BOLT LOOSENS
The steering column upper coupling bolt may not have been correctly torqued on production. This may lead to looseness in the upper joint and in extreme cases shaft detachment. The concern affects only vehicles produced at the Workington Plant.
Replace the fixing bolt for the upper steering column coupling with an alternative type which is currently employed on the 'Volvo' Olympian.

FRONT BRAKE HOSES MAY FOUL TYRES
On vehicles fitted with ABS the front brake hoses can foul the tyres on full lock.
Recall the affected vehicles and alter the fixing and routing of the front brake hoses to ensure that they cannot foul the tyres when the steering is on full lock.

INSUFFICIENT TORQUEING OF PROPELLOR SHAFT COUPLING BOLTS
The bolts coupling the propellor shaft to the differential and/or the bolts coupling intermediate propellor shaft sections may not be sufficiently torqued.
Recall the affected vehicles and check the torque of the subject bolts retorqueing where necessary.
