ENGINE MAY CUT OUT
It is possible that the multi-function switches can fail which can result in the kill-switch function being tripped. This can result in the engine cutting out and the loss of other functions.
Recall affected machines for a new improved switch to be installed.

BRAKES MAY FAIL
It has been identified that during the manufacturing process cracks may have formed in the area of the brake disc body. Subsequent surface treatment means that any such crack will not be detectable at a later date. Should a crack have formed this may cause the brake disc to fail whilst the vehicle is in motion causing the affected brake to become inoperative.
Recalled vehicles will have the rear axle brake discs checked for the affected production date. The brake discs will be checked if necessary.

FRONT SIDE AIRBAG OR SEAT BELT TENSIONER MAY NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
It has been identified that due to faulty crimping of the component parts of the airbag wiring harness and seat belt tensioner the side airbag or seatbelt tensioner may not trigger in the vent of a collision.
Recalled vehicles will have the harness checked and repaired as necessary.

FRONT BRAKE MAY FAIL
A combination of unfavourable tolerances can mean that front brake lines might be under strain. The vibrations that occur when riding could cause the brake lines to develop leaks thereby adversely affecting the performance of the front brake. Authority Service Vehicles only are affected by this concern.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to fit modified brake lines.
THE BRAKING EFFICIENCY OF THE FRONT BRAKES COULD DIMINISH SEVERELY.
Foaming of the brake fluid may occur in the brake fluid reservoir of the front brake. It is therefore possible that air can then enter the front braking system and adversely affect the performance of the front brake.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to fit a screen into the brake fluid reservoir.
FRONT WHEEL QUICK- RELEASE AXLE COULD FAIL
The front quick release axle may not be to specification. The axle may become damaged or in the worst case fail when the machine is used in circumstances of severe loading.
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the front quick release axle.
QUICK- RELEASE AXLES MAY BE DEFECTIVE
The front quick release axle may not be to specification. The axle may become damaged or in the worst case fail when the machine is used in circumstances of severe loading. (Extension of RM/2009/022 after further information came to light)
Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the front quick release axle.
AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY
The front air bags may trigger unnecessarily and the possibility of occupant injury cannot be excluded.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to recode the air bag control unit.
FLUID LEAK MAY RESULT IN BRAKE FAILURE
It has been identified that vibration can cause the flaring of the front brake pipe to crack resulting in a brake fluid leak. If allowed to continue un-rectified front brake failure may result.
Recalled machines will have the subject brake pipe replaced.
ENGINE MAY CUT OUT
The double clutch is not operating at the optimum level. This could lead to the engine cutting out at low speeds.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to programme the necessary control units.
FINAL DRIVE MAY BECOME UNSUPPORTED
It has been identified that the possibility exists that the front threaded fastener of the paralever link may become insecure. In the worst case the screw could fall away resulting in the final drive being unsupported.
Recalled machines will have the subject screw replaced.
BRAKE PERFORMANCE COULD BE AFFECTED
It is possible that the vehicle has been fitted with 16 inch front brake discs instead of the required 17 inch brake discs. If this is the case extreme braking could result in the over heating of the brake system and introduce vapour (air) bubbles into the brake fluid. This could affect the braking performance.
Recall all potentially affected vehicles and check the size of the brakes discs on the front axle. If 16 inch brake discs are found replace these with the correct 17 inch brakes discs and brake pads.
FRONT BRAKE CALIPER MAY BECOME INSECURE
It has been identified that following reattachment of the front wheel to the machine following shipping. The possibility exists that the torque of the front brake caliper retaining fasteners may not be at the specified level. Under theses circumstances the front brake caliper may become insecure.
Recalled machines will have the front brake caliper fasteners checked and reworked as necessary.
REAR AXLE CARRIER MAY FAIL
It has been identified that defects in a material joint may have resulted during the heat treatment of individual components of the rear axle carrier. This may result in failure of the holders of the links and struts even under normal driving conditions. Should the holder of a link fail whilst the vehicle is in motion the handling characteristics of the vehicle would undergo an unexpected change which could result in an accident.
Recalled vehicles will be checked and if necessary fitted with a quality assured rear axle carrier.

STEERING DAMPER MAY BECOME DEFECTIVE.
It has been identified that the steering dampers on likely to be affected machines may become defective due to the coating of the inner section of the cylinder becoming partially detached then partially clogging the oil bores. This can result that the action of the steering damper becoming stiff.
Recalled machines will have the steering damper replaced.

FRONT BRAKES MAY FAIL
It has been identified that a combination of unfavourable tolerances can result in the brake lines being under strain. As a consequence when the machine is being ridden the brake lines could develop leaks thus allowing hydraulic fluid to escape. This will cause the level of the hydraulic fluid within the reservoir to fall which if this goes unnoticed can result in failure of the front brakes only.
Recalled machines will be fitted with brakes lines which are significantly more resistant to the effects of vibration and strain. Additionally have a geometry which allows for tolerances that ensure that the lines are not under strain in their installed positions.
