BMW strongly recommends refraining from charging the high-voltage battery and to not use the vehicles until the repair is performed. The compression spring in the backrest mechanism of the 3rd row seating may be incorrectly installed or missing which can affect the ability of the backrest to lock into place when upright.
Check compression springs on the backrest frame (third-row seating) and rework if necessary.
MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH WINDING OF CELL-INTERNAL FILMS FOR HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY
